After spending most of the day at the Bosque del Apache NWR, it was great to quickly grab a burger and a beer at the Buckhorn Tavern. I did not realize that it had been sold and was under new management until I came to TA to write this review. My wife and I both had the Buckhorn burger (very tasty) and a beer (lots of choices and nice and cold). Atmosphere was most definitely western and this felt like an old saloon. Unfortunately, the place was cold, even with the wood pellet stove going full blast. Otherwise, the food was good, service fast and friendly and prices very reasonable. Would definitely go back but will bring a coat with me.
