Stunning tented camp with great service and food!! Definately worth a visit! As the manager and the rangers are quite young you can certainly even have a fun night at the bar! Definately one of the best!

For our trip of a lifetime honeymoon, i agonised over which safari camp to go for and once booked just had to keep my fingers crossed. From the moment we were greeted by smiling faces and a cool drink we knew we had made the right choice. We were really hoping for a combination of the relaxation you get at 5 star but to retain the feeling of being on a real safari-definately no tv, phone or bling! This is exactly what we got. Everything was beautiful but felt very natural. The rangers, hosts and in fact all the staff made you feel part of the camp with fabulous food at the communal boma dinners. The attention to detail is so amazing you will definately be sad to leave. The tented style accomodation means you can have all the comfort but you can still hear the animals rustling around at night and see the stars from your deck. The rangers and trackers were experts and try to tailor the drives to you. We were the only couple in the open top landrover on a couple of occasions-they never try to pack too many into one vehicle. At this private game reserve they have strict rules about how many vehicles go to one sighting. try not to be too hung up about seeing the big 5-you may well get lucky but the whole point of a wild safari is that you go looking but don't know what you may come across. Also there are so many little things that are just as exciting-my favourite was holding a cameleon!
Anyway, i could go on but if this is the sort of thing you are looking for it is worth every penny and more. Go!

We stayed at the Tanda Tula for three nights out of our two weeks honeymoon and it was the highlight of the trip. The camp was beautiful, we didn't know what to expect with the tents but they were gorgeous, beautiful large comfy beds, well equiped rooms and a fantastic bathroom complete with outdoor shower which everyone must try as it is a real experience. The early mornings didn't bother us as we knew we were going to see something truly amazing and that we did, we saw every kind of animal and bird including the big 5. The benefit of going on Safari in the Timbavati game reserve is that the landrovers are open topped and they can go off the tracks whereas in Kruger the landrovers have to be covered and they are not allowed to go off the tracks. We saw most of our animals because we could go off the beaten track. The rangers and trackers were so knowledgeable, Patrick and Scotch looked after us for the three days and they never failed to find the animals, it is truly a breathtaking experience being surrounded by 40 elephants and being so close to Lions and Leopards. The staff at the camp couldn't do enough for you, the food was amazing and everyone down to the cleaners knew your name.
We would recommend Tanda Tula to anyone who would like to experience a truly unique holiday with loads of personal touches and staff who really care that you have a great time. It was very emotional to leave and we will certainly go back.

We stayed 3 nights in this lovely camp, they have a striking sense of detail here: everything is done to make you feel spoilt.. the rangers and game drives are wonderful, we saw really a lot. This is not the only camp we visited and I imagine that you can see wonderful things in other camps too, you also have to be a bit lucky. But one thing is certain the atmosphere in this intimate camp is unique; although we are aware that there are many lodges to visit, we will certainly return here. Ok it is expensive but the memory will last a lifetime!

We spent two weeks in South Africa on our honeymoon and Tanda Tula was by far our favorite destination. Everything was above and beyond our expectations and the camp itself really captured our hearts. The staff was wonderful - extremely friendly and a pleasure to be around. They were truly attentive, informative and made us feel at home. We saw the "big 5" and more and had extraordinary drives - six in total. The open Landrovers are a must when considering a safari, and we wouldn't do it any other way now. We loved the accommodations, especially the tented camps as it provided the luxuries of home but allowed us to hear and feel the elements of the bush. And I will say that the food was phenomenal here. I still don't know how they cook such elaborate meals in the middle of no where. We stayed a total of three nights but wished we had a forth - it was that good. We have taken away wonderful memories and pictures, and we will make every effort to return again someday soon.

We stayed at Tanda Tula for part of our honeymoon and I have to say it was one of the best holidays we've ever had. The staff are amazing and make you feel so welcome and the rooms are so comfortable. We've never been on a safari before, so found the game drives exciting and to have drinks in the bush at sundown with giraffe and elephants on the horizon is something we'll never forget! We saw all of the big five whilst we were there and although we did encounter other jeeps it had no bearing on our enjoyment. Can't recommend enough!
