Loved the thrice daily maid service, nightly bubble baths awaiting your return from the evening game drives, delicious food (Oscar, the chef, is great!) and of course the 'tent' experience. Richard, our butler, was excellent as well!

We spent 3 nights here and had a fantastic time. The tents are beautiful and the staff wonderful. Presence the manager and David our butler were very welcoming as were all the staff. Food was very good and each evening guests were made welcome in the general area with pre dinner drinks, nibbles and the fires blazing. We ate at seperate tables ( with gas heaters ) but could join up if we liked to chat. Meals could also be taken in your room or lunch by the pool or on the lawn. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our ranger Jeff was fantastic and we had great game viewing because of him and his trainee tracker Ernest. 4 leopards, one with a kill and 3 who hyenas has stolen the kill from. ( we watched them eat it). Lots of lions and cubs and Jeff had the knack of getting us to them as they started to move and roar. General game galore. This place was the highlight of our stay in South Africa and we cant wait to return

The folks at Ngala Tented (Clare, Richard, Ryan & Adam) made our stay there unforgettable - excellent food, amazing ambience, unforgettable animal and flora/fauna drives, and a feeling of true luxury as well as safety.

Our 4th visit to a ccAfrica lodge surpassed all of our very high expectations. The location, the peace and quiet, the food and the quite superlative service from all the staff (but special mention has to be of David, our "butler", and Gift the most charming and talented chef) coupled with the most wonderful sightings on the game drives - lost track we saw so much to list!

This place, which only accommodates 12 guests, will attend to your every wish - if you want a true safari experience and to go to bed to the sounds of lions calling and yet enjoy the tranquility of the location look no further (and eschew the very much larger main lodge camp) this HAS to be your choice

We were there for a week beginning of April - prepare for chilly mornings, hot days and a welcome cooling in the evening. The tents are absolutely perfect - enormous and so comfortable.

Best overall safari experience ever

My husband and I stayed at Ngala for 3 nights and they have been the best days of our lives.
The tents are amazing, the outdoor shower a 10 plus, the food, the pool, the people... too good to be true BUT IS TRUE!!!
The safaris were great thanks to our ranger Jeff. We had such a great time with him, he always answer with a smile to one of the hundreds of questions we made him.
For far, the best place we have ever been. And for sure will go back.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ngala tented camp for 4 nights in November and would not have wanted to be anywhere else. We travel extensively around the world for work and play and have stayed in top hotels and eaten in the best restaurants but this is by far the best service we have ever had.

The food was incredible and there was tons of it! Gift and Oscar (the two chefs) surpassed our expectations. Oscar was king enough to give me his recipe of the best Tiramisu I have ever had (Amarula Tiramisu)!

The tents were very spacious and luxurious (the pictures do not do justice to the camp). We heard animals roaming in the camp every night (lions, buffalos, leopards) it was incredible.

The game drives were so much fun with Richard (our tracker) and Jeff (our ranger) going out of their way to find sittings that would blow our socks off. Jeff's off road driving skills in the bush were impressive. We will always remember the two lion cubs with their mother, the leopard and the 3 cheetahs!!!!

The team even surprised us with champagne and nibbles in the dry river bed at candle light on the last evening (fabulous!).

Our personal butler Wilson gave us service that surpassed any 5 star hotel service by a mile!

The manager (Desire) went out of her way to make everybody part of the family. As the camp is quite small (6 tents only) it was a key element to the success of our stay!

We would recommend this destination to anyone, even the most seasoned travellers!

My husband and I stayed here for one night after being on the Ngala walking safari for four days. I think that I have pretty high standards and both stays were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the walking safari too. The one thing that surprised us the most was how delicious the food was - we were not expecting such gourmet meals. The food was so fresh and the spices were delicious. The tented camp is so peaceful and relaxing. We wished we could have stayed here longer. The tents are extremely luxurious and large. The common eating and lounging areas are beautifully decorated. After our evening game drive, we came back to our room and a bubble bath and champagne were waiting for us! We weren't sure if they did this for everyone or if it was because we were on our honeymoon, but it was terrific! There also is a beautiful outdoor shower. The soaps and shampoos smelled great so we bought some in the gift shop. The game drives were amazing - in combination with the walking safari - we saw all of the big five and much more. The service also is amazing at Ngala - everyone is unbelievably nice and will do anything to make your stay pleasant. When you need something you just have to ring a bell and someone comes to your tent. The only negative thing is that when we went it was very cold at night - not the hotel's fault obviously - so it was very cold to sleep and getting up early in the morning for the morning game drive or walk. It was very warm during the day - so dress in layers. On the walking safari, we were given hot water bottles to sleep with so after a little while it was very toasty. At the tented camp, we had electric blankets and there was a heater, but it didn't work too well because there is not high powered electricity. They also gave you blankets to wrap around yourself during dinner which was so cozy. I can't say enough positive things about Ngala. It has to be one of the most amazing places on this earth. My husband and I are dying to go back or to another cc africa property.
