A friend and i stayed at Ngala for two nights, when we arrived at the Lodge our bags were taken to our room, After the Dennis the Camp Manager showed us around we got shown our room, instead of our Standard Suite, they upgraded us to the Safari Suite which was awesome! The staff is what made the stay great! Thank you very much Kaitlyn, Dennis, Nat, Kyle and Barney! Hope to visit again soon!!

Four incredible days at Ngala -- saw the Big Five (including a coalition of nine male lions!), wild dogs on a hunt, and much, much more -- all up close and personal. Ranger Ryno and Tracker Norm are the best; they gave us an amazing experience, and a great deal of fun. Lodge setting, food (more than we could ever possibly eat), service -- all fabulous. Personal butler Richard brought joy to everything he did; very personable. All staff were exceptionally attentive and professional. Loved every minute of our stay. Highly recommend.

Ngala was our destination after we left Sabi Sabi. It did not achieve the high standards of Sabi Sabi in terms of food, service or organisation, but it was very good indeed. There was significant disruption whilst we were there due to the flooding of their bush camp and the re-thatching of the roof over the main dining area and kitchen. The friendly staff were required to do many workarounds which they did well.

The game drives were interesting and we saw a huge variety of animals. Hot water bottles for the freezing cold morning were very welcome indeed. Things seemed a little disorganised at first, but as we learned about the routines we were more comfortable with them. Excellent value and a fine ethical attitude to the animals.

Spent 3 days at Ngala. WE mixed up our trip with short stays at different game parks, which gives you a good variety.
Ngala is up there as one of the most opulent safaris you can go on in SA.
The food is plentiful - bring your sneakers and do some walks, as you can fatten up quickly here :)
Personalised butler, driver and trackers for the whole trip - with 6 or so in a group made it intimate.
Personally I like to get out earlier in the morning to see more animals... but went with the flow.
Saw the big 5, but not in abundance... lucked out a little on our game drives - hence why its important to go at every opportunity.
Common areas and beautiful... rooms lovely - but no need to spend any time there.
Drivers and trackers can vary - we had a funny guy called Pieter - worth requesting.
Food, alcohol, washing etc was all included in the price - so let loose!
Every dinner we had was hosted at a different location - all a great experience.
Wifi is very poor - so don’t plan on using it... kind of cool, as people aren’t working around next to you.
All in all - I'd recommend... some good bush wacking - but take your hat and cream - the trucks aren’t covered.

If you’re visiting South Africa for the first time, make sure you do the Garden Route, the WineLands and Cape Town – must see’s!

Room Tip: Check the map. there can be a lot of people walking past your room of you are on one of the main tracks. Also - the rooms are not self standing, there are 2 back to back... you can hear some noise and a/c's

Just returned this morning from the most unbelievable experience at Ngala Safari Lodge. We have been looked after like royalty in the most incredible setting, the natural beauty of the surroundings are matched by the quality of the lodge, the food, the service and the attention to detail from all the staff. Our fantastic Ranger Ryno and our Tracker Norman shared with us their incredible knowledge about the most amazing thing at Ngala - the wildlife. We have seen some truly amazing sights, all the big five and much, much more. The experience we have had, and our Girls have had, was supposed to be an adventure of a lifetime. It was - an easter egg hunt in the bush, turning the corner and finding a chef cooking us pancakes for breakfast at the half way point in a game drive, showing the kids how to spot footprints for the different animals and for us, watching hippos and water buffalo in the watering hole as the beautiful african sun sets whilst drinking a cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc. We have left Ngala feeling like we have left family behind because we were looked after so well, and now we cannot wait to return.
