I stayed in Kapama Karula for six nights with my ten year old grandson . It was his first time in Africa. He loved it! He cried when we left. Kapama Karula was everything I expected and more. Everyone made our stay very comfortable and our guide/ranger Cameron and trucker Vusi went above and beyond their duty to make us welcome. They were fantastic with my grandson answering all his questions. The tent accommodation was fantastic and very private. I really don't have anything negative to say about Kapama Karula apart from......we had to leave.

I would recommend Kapama to anyone that has a love of the bush and also likes some creature comforts.

Wow, what an incredible experience. We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and it lived up to every expectation we had. The rooms are exquisite (we stayed in both the tents and the chalets and I definitely recommend spending the extra cash for the chalets as they are fantastic). The staff can't do enough for you and the game drives are awesome. We saw 4 out of the big 5 and had an incredible experience witnessing the interaction between a family of lions and some rhino's. AWESOME! I also recommend the day spa - the treatments a regreat but the location is right on a watering hole and you can watch the animals come to drink as you are having a massage. Simply stunning. A perfect venue. I couldn't have asked for a better start to our honeymoon.

Oh how wonderful was this!! We stayed 3 nights in one of the chalets (save up for this vs tents). The room was amazing - huge and stunning!!!! Own pool for those lazy moments between game drives. Our ranger (Calvin) made this an experience that we will always remember. We were lucky to see the big 5 all with little ones. The drives were so relaxing and energizing. Highly recommend this venue. Service great and personal. Only small(very small) criticism is the food - it was really good but we expected a more refined menu for such high end venue!! All I can say is book and njoy!!

After four days at Elephant Plains in Sabi Sand, which we absolutely adored, we were worried that a stay anywhere else could only be a let-down. How wrong can you be?
From the pictures on the website, it was clear that the design of Kapama Karula was unlike any other “camp” you might see and I was worried that it might lack atmosphere. But the stunning, blonde wood décor has been cleverly created with an African twist and is inviting from the moment you arrive.

The theme is carried throughout the camp, and the new suites – no less than 115 square meters in size – are designed with the same style and panache as the public areas. The suites each have individual decks and swimming pools overlooking the river below, which are completely private.

No detail has been overlooked, with use of the finest quality sanitary ware and fittings, and the same attention to detail is evident in the dining room, where the tableware is stunning.

If the camp itself was impressive, the game drives – the most important element of the trip – were equally amazing. We spent hours tracking and watching a leopard and her two cubs as they played and explored within one kilometre of the camp. We travelled to the other side of the large reserve to see lions hunting and were lucky enough to witness a kill – a very sanitised one, thank goodness, in which the poor victim was dispatched quickly and almost bloodlessly. We even saw a "pink" elephant - a young elephant born lacking the normal pigment in its skin, a bit like an albino.

Our guide, Mike, and tracker, Vuzi, made each and every drive during our three-day stay different and fascinating.

The spa is a 15-minute drive away, but well worth the trip (one of the ranges will take you there). It is simply gorgeous and the treatment I had was first-class.

There is plenty of food on offer, from early morning tea/coffee and nibbles to a good breakfast and lunch, high tea and, finally, dinner. Generally it is of good quality but there were a couple of meals that we found disappointing, most notably the barbecue evening round the boma.

Still, we came away with wonderful memories of our stay at Karula, which will remain with use for a very long time to come.

(Forgot to mention - there's wifi throughout the camp)

Our three days at Kapama Karula was a magical experience for all of us. As a family party of six with an age range of 16 - 62 (!), we all had different expectations and we all left Kapama Karula with wonderful memories and great reluctance - I only wish we could have stayed longer!. Our tents were superbly comfortable, the food was delicious and all the staff could not have been more charming and helpful. We would particularly recommend the ranger Paul and his tracker Alfred, who between them, managed to make sure we saw everything and Paul went out of his way to make our safari experience truly memorable. For a luxurious but authentic African safari, you could not do any better than choose Kapama Karula.
