Just returned from 5 days at Ezulwini and coldn't have asked for a better experience. Stayed 2 nights at River Lodge and 2 nights at Billy's Lodge. All the staff went above and beyond in all areas. We were initially greeted by Erin who was so pleasant and she just set the mood for the reminder of the experience. Everyone else was kind, friendly, hospitable and always had time to answer your questions. Kudos to Trevor and his fearless tracker Laurence who tracked the Big 5 and more for us! Lawrence(the owner) even took time out of his busy schedule to meet us all and have meals with us as well. The game drives were FANTASTIC!!!!! Saw EVERYTHING!!!!! It was also nice just having a limited number of people in the safari vehicles so you never felt like you missed capturing a picture because someone was in the way. The maximum number of people we had in our safari vehicle was 7 not including the tracker and driver. Beautiful place!! Peaceful!! Elegant!! Relaxing!!!! Can't wait to go back again!

Trip of a lifetime:

In February we stayed at the Ezulwini Safari Camp located in the Balule Nature Reserve, hosted by Laurence and his lovely daughter Lauren.

We spend a wonderful 5 days at Ezulwini, a private camp, exploring the wilderness in search of the Big 5. Our ranger Rex and his faithful spotter Frans did everything in their power to find all of the animals for us.

Staying at the Lodge was like home away from home; the staff was friendly and treated us like family.

Many thanks to those who made our stay wonderful, Freeman was one of our favorite staff, he along with the kitchen staff took care of all our needs and made sure we all had lots to eat. We especially enjoyed the Amarula after the afternoon drive.

This was a trip of a life time; we recommend everyone should do this at least once in their lifetime.

Gail and Tom Fraioli

Room Tip: The up graded suites at Billy's Lodge are excellent!

My wife and I spent 4 days at Ezulwini in Jan 2012. 2 nights at River Lodge and 2 nights at Billy's lodge. Our accomodations were exceptional at both locations with a nod going to Billy's lodge for it's bigger and more varied public area's. Every aspect about this experience (accomodations, food, service, game drives and people) was exceptional! We have traveled extensively and have been fortunate to see and experience many parts of the world. Our trip to Ezulwini ranks right up there with anything we have ever done. It's hard to know where to start but i'd have to say the best part of this trip was the interaction with and the graciousness of our hosts. At River lodge, our host, Erin tended to our every need and spent hours with us in a delightful cultural exchange. She is an absolute doll. Trevor our guide and Lawrence our spotter took us into the bush. The sights they showed us were amazing and Trevor's knowledge about the game and plant life was unending. He too was a great host and has a keen sense of humor. When my wife experienced a moderate medical situation while in the bush, the entire Ezulwini team (and members of neighboring lodges) showed a great sense of urgency and caring in getting us out of the bush to medical care and dealing with the administators at the medical facility in Hoedspruit. The proprietors, Lauren and Storm, met us at the clinic, paid the bill for us (it was added to our hotel account) and bought (yes bought) a fresh change of clothes for my wife for the ride back to Billy's lodge. Since the medical situation occured on the day we were to transfer from River Lodge to Billy's Lodge, Erin packed our bags for us and had them transfered to Billy's lodge. Are you kidding? That is truely going above and beyond! Once at Billy's lodge we were able to resume our safari experience with minimal disruption. The team at Billy's (Freeman our host, Rex our guide and Franz our spotter) were also top shelf. With only my wife and I and two other guests at the lodge, we had the pleasure of getting to know Lauren and Storm. Lauren the time you spent with us sharing your knowledge and experiences as a guide was a special treat for us. On the day of our departure, Erin and Trevor (we think they're a couple :-)) came to Billy's lodge to say good bye. These are genuine people folks. In reading the other reviews, I'd have to agee with all of the other positive comments about Ezulwini and it's wonderful people. Kudo's to all and thanks for a great trip!

I had no idea what to expect when planning this trip. Once I arrived at the River Lodge I was taken into a different world. Greeted by Erin, smiling with cool towels and cocktails then entering into an Oasis for the next few days... I was taken back by the beauty and elegance of the lodge. Catering to the guests and at the same time giving tribute to the wildlife. The game drives were beyond my expectations. The guides (Greg, Laurence and Trevor) are so knowledgeable about the wildlife and the plants that surround Kruger. You can tell the love and respect each of them have for the different animals and their habitat. Also, what a wonderful surprise to come back after a morning game drive and OUR LAUNDRY WAS DONE!!!! I pray I am lucky enough to get to experience the Ezulwini lodges again!! A must for everyone's 'bucket list'....

Room Tip: All accommodations are brilliant. The delux suite at Billy's Lodge is definitely worth the extra fee...

Our 3 nights at Ezulwini Billy's Lodge were wonderful. The game drives were breathtaking, seeing lots of big game, up close and personal. The rangers put us in perfect position to take photos, at the same time being respectful to the wildlife. We stayed in thier newest lodging, which was beautifully furnished with everything you could need. The outdoor shower was a real hoot. The food was great and the entire staff very helpful. A nice touch was upon returning from a game drive, was being greeted by a staff person with a tray of drinks, and a refreshing wet washcolth (warm if the weather was cool, or cold if hot). We would highly recommend a visit there.

Room Tip: Newest suites are nicest.
