Sausage Tree Safari Camp
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed June 8, 2014

Our stay at Sausage Tree was perfect and better than we could have imagined. The owners and their staff treated us like family. They even catered to my special diet needs. The food there is out of this world! Thank you so much! We highly recommend this guest camp and can think of nothing but accolades for it.

3 nights, 4 days; 23 animals, 41 birds, plus reptiles, amphibians, astounding insects, and gigantic snails. Tents with perfect beds, outstanding food, skillfully mixed gin and tonics and delightful safari companions. Our safari was more than we ever imagined and one we hope to repeat.

My wife and I stayed at Sausage Tree for a week in May and instantly fell in love with the camp. From the amazing views at the skydeck, to Sonja's warmth and James' immense knowledge about the bush. Lest I forget Orlando's delicious gastronomy and Temba's ability to track and find wildlife almost at will. The game drives were always informative and we managed to see 3 of the big 5 in the first game drive itself. Would highly recommend Sausage Tree as THE home to stay at when in the greater Kruger area.

Felt like we were leaving family behind when we were leaving...

This is becoming a not-so-secret near-Kruger destination for discerning folk who like comfortable living, very good food, good guiding and charming hosts. If you want lovely views and good game viewing possibilities as well as the above then this is for you; if you are looking for a spa resort then this it is not.

Nicki and I spent three amazing days at Sausage Tree at the beginning of May.
The food and service was five star with Sonja and Orlando looking after our every need. The camp had been recommended to us and lived up to every expectation. The star of the show was Liam the tracker/guide who not only showed us the big five but also scorpions, chameleons and 20 other animal and insect species.
Fabulous service and a fabulous trip!

Sausage Tree Camp is the perfect place to stay of you are looking for a small scale lodge, with a personal atmosphere, in beautiful surroundings. The safari tents are very nice and clean, the food is good and the view from the lodge is outstanding. James and Sonia really know how to make you feel welcome here. Stayed at the lodge on my own, but did not feel alone at all. The game drives are great fun; James and Thimbu do their very best to show you as many animals as they can, still respecting nature. Oh yeah, the dogs at Sausage Tree Lodge are too cute as well! Thanks, James and Sonia, really had a wonderful stay!
