Naledi Bushcamp and Enkoveni Camp
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 5, 2013

We have just returned from our 21 day SA self drive trip. Wonderful trip including our 4 night stay at Naledi Enkoveni on the Olifonts River. We chose this lodge after staying at Naledi Bush Camp last September. We were so impressed with the guest experience there that we chose to return and stay at the newer camp, to experience the river scene and animals. After a rather bumpy trip down the bush road you arrive at a beautiful lodge in a very spectacular setting to a warm welcome from the managers Shaun and Roseanne and staff. The 4 of us were led to our rooms the Fishing Owl and Fishing Eagle suites. I say suites, because the room is not just a bedroom but also encompasses a large separate lounge area, with a bar fridge and tea/coffee making facility. This leads out via sliding doors to a huge shared timber balcony that runs the length of both suites, same with bedroom. Deck chairs and umbrellas are provided for each suite for guests to enjoy & savour the river views & activity in the water directly in front & across the river bank - hippos, eles, giraffe, kudu etc. The food was excellent and there is a lot of it, so we had to pace ourselves , meals are taken in company with other guests and manager Shaun, who provides interesting, informative commentary. You can request a private table as did one honeymoon couple. The game drives were well conducted but the weather did impact on the viewings, as it turned cold and very windy on the 3rd day. Such a change after 2 hot days which saw us in the plunge pool . Down time, we had our nano naps, used the wi fi in the computer room and caught up with owner Kjell from Bush Camp for a chat. Then we departed in our newly washed & polished vehicles. Value for money - excellent and hard to beat.

We stayed at the Enkoveni Camp for 4 nights in September. We booked quite last minute, so first we were in the the Tusker suite and then we moved to Fishing Eagle. Both rooms were very nice with comfortable beds, great views, and well thought-out interiors. We've stayed at other safari lodges throughout Africa and found Naledi to be top-notch; comfortable, beautiful, and down-to-earth. The food was excellent and with request, well adapted to my vegetarian preferences. Though drinks are not included, the price of drinks is very reasonable. For example, nice bottles of wine are available for around 10usd.

The game drives were really enjoyable and we saw a wide variety of animals. Even had hippos grazing in the grass by our room one night! The tracker was very impressive and always managed to lead us on exciting chase. Shaun was a great guide and a huge source of knowledge. Neladi has a lovely and subtle approach, they don't bombard you with information and options, but are very approachable and more than happy to accommodate any requests.

We were in a VW polo, and although we had to go quite slow you can make it to the lodge without an SUV.

Overall, we had a great time and highly recommend Naledi. Shaun and Rozanne helped make our stay very memorable!

We stayed at Impala Lily for four nights. The game drive was one of the main reasons to stay at Naledi, but the food, room, and the quiet atmophere by the river are worth staying. We had the best meal we ever had in the foreign country and we just couldn't wait what Max and Sister would cook for us. The room was cute and cozy. Shaun was such a good guide and driver. Whenever he got information from other drivers, he would drive like a maniac and tried to show us animals and we got to see leopard at our final drive.
It would have been much better if our morning drive started an hour later and afternoon drive started an hour earlier since we couldn't see many animals when it was dark. Also we thought our drink for our game drive was included, but it wasn't.
Overall, Shaun and Rozanne made our stay such an unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: If you like pink, you should definitely choose "Impala Lily".

I just came back from a 4 day stay at Naledi and loved everything and everyone. It surpassed my expectations!!!. They will get you what ever you need or want, you just have to ask. It was nice to see the staff happy and smiling and you could tell that it was geunine.
Alecia made sure you had everything that you needed and that you where comfortable.
Kjell (owner) took us out on all the game drives and was full of information!
Prem- was a great tracker and very knowledgeable, espeically during the bushwalk
Sam/Lucas- best chefs, their food was creative and amazing.
The accomendations where fantastic and comfortable. I love how the staff ate lunch and dinner with the guest. You where made to feel like you where part of their family.
Game drive was comfortable and viewing the animals in their element was amazing. We did not see a Leopard but saw so many other animals and had great experiences, it did not matter. We learned so much about the animals and their habitit.
The food was amazing! I am a picky eater, which they accomendated. The food presentation was like nothing I have ever seen!!
I can not wait to go back!!! I felt like I was on my honeymoon all over again.

Room Tip: Every room is great!!!

A fantastic location overlooking the river, could have stayed there the whole time. The camp has a wonderfully relaxed and truly luxurious feel. Nothing is too much trouble. Sean and Rosanna and all their staff go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in Fish Eagle but they all had a fantastic location overlooking the river.

The bush walk was also interesting and we learned a lot from the excellent African guide
The lodge itself is beautifull and pamapreing and the food in itslef is a most delifghtful expereice

A truly magnificent stay with Naledi at Enkoveni. Attentive and personalised service, rewarding game drives, expert guides, fireside conversations and top quality rooms. I proposed to my fiancé on our second night, looking back we both agree it was a perfect moment in perfect location. We are already considering Naledi as a wedding venue. Thanks to the team for giving us such a memorable experience.
