It was hearing the sounds of the animals at night close to the camp - but of course all the while being tucked up safely in the four post queen size bed with romantic mosquito net. We have a great video of the experience and a full written review on our travel blog http://peddlingpassion.com

I wasn't really sure what to expect since the website wasn't detailed nor did it have much pictures. Boy was a surprised! The entire lodge is spectacular, great layout, location, services, and decor. The food was gourmet and exceptional! The best food of my trip.

The service and the staff are great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. We got to see the Big 5: lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino.

If you are planning on doing a Safari, this is the place to stay at!

My wife and I visited Naledi Bushcamp for 4 days in early April during a trip through South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. We can confirm that all the comments you are reading here on tripadvisor are accurate. Kjell and crew have put together something fantastic and are earning all the great reviews you are seeing.

We were successful in tracking the big 5 and some (Impala, Kudu, Gnu, Zebra, Giraffe, Cheetah, Leopard, Lion, Water Buffalo, Elephant, Black Rhino, Hippo, Warthog and more). Kjell and Prem made absolute sure we were in the action. So much so that we found ourselves stuck in the middle of the bush with the cruiser while tracking a leopard (that is not a negative - it was a great story!). They are passionate about the animals and you could tell. We've missed the drives since we left.

The accommodations were great. This place runs like a well oiled machine. The camp accommodates 8 which makes this a very personal experience. The entire camp was clean and welcoming. The staff are top notch.

We could write a book on how great of an experience we had. We like adventure and it was exactly what we got. We've already recommended Naledi to a number of people since we returned home.

Our general rule of thumb is there is too much world to visit a place twice, but Naledi was something extra special and we will visiting again.

This camp can be recommended to the most demanding travelers who want to combine pure, primitive nature in the middle of nowhere with 5 stars luxury accommodation and exceptional treatment. Best game Safari ever for the Big 5. Lions, Elephants, Rhino, Hypo, Chitah (Gepard), Crocodile, Girafs, Zebras, Kudu, Impala, etc., are just a few to mention.

We recently spent 3 amazing nights at Naledi. Everything was wonderful - from the early morning game drives (where we saw the Big 5 + cheetah + much more) to the delicious food (you won't go hungry!) to the beautiful grounds (). The staff and management team were so welcoming, and the trackers really knew the land (thanks Yuvani!). Go, enjoy, relax!

One other tip - we took the Ashtons Shuttle to get there. It's an easy 5+ hour drive with some great scenery and saved us some money.

Room Tip: It doesn't get better than the Bushbuck Suite - truly an amazing, private space with a great wra...

During our trip in SA we stayed (only) 2 nights in Naledi Bush Camp. If we knew before what magnificent place and experience Naledi would be, we would have booked more nights. Of course, you have to get up at 5:00 AM (with a friendly knock of Kjell), but the safaris and the stay at the camp (laying at the pool and looking at some giraffes passing by, excellent food en good company) makes you forget everything.

From the moment our family of four (kids 17 and 14) arrived at Naledi until leaving five days later, we were so impressed with the whole experience. From the accommodation, to the food, game drives and walks, the attention to detail was superb. Shaun the lodge manager is a very skilled cross country driver and guide, along with our tracker Sepo (apologies if I have spelt his name wrong) .They were a great team and made our 'bush' experience truly memorable. Thank you so much.

We stayed in the 'Tusker' suite with a very large balcony overlooking the Oliphants river and infinity pool just 30ft away on the terrace below. The suite was very spacious with a second bedroom and large bathroom with lovely decor throughout. The temperature was easily controlled with two large modern air con units in the suite and one in the second bedroom.

The reception and dining areas were beautifully laid out and decorated, and it was a nice touch to eat at the same time with the other guests (14 in total including ourselves when we stayed). Max, the head chef introduced each meal personally and the meals were quite simply superb.

The decking area below the reception/dining area and next to the pool was tranquil and a lovely place to relax after or before game drives. From the decking, animals could be seen on the far side of the river coming down to the water, as could the occasional Hippo and crocodile. I would recommend a pair of binoculars to use whilst down by the river to view some of the animals. Fortunately we purchased some prior to our departing home for R.S.A.
The day started for us with a knock on your door at 0500 (if you wish to be woken for the first game drive of the day) and meeting the other guests in the dining/relaxing area at 0530 (coffee and other drinks there for you to get you going!) Then it was mount up time in the Toyota Land Cruisers and off we went. Typically for us the drives lasted in the morning until 0830 (when you returned for breakfast) but with a rest stop in the bush at some point for a leg stretch and some coffee/tea/or hot chocolate and delightful biscuits!!
During the drives Shaun passed on his knowledge of the bush and animals to us and really made our experience. Thanks again.

After breakfast it was time to relax either for a few hours before the walk in the bush or until lunch (at 1430) if you did not want to go on the walk. After lunch again we had time to relax before the evening game drive at 1630- 2000 if I remember correctly. Each day we would stop by a different watering hole/location for sun down 'drinks' what ever you had ordered before leaving the lodge earlier, a very nice touch!

After returning for drinks and dinner in the evening we were ready for a good night's sleep and then the wake up the following morning.

Rozanne was the perfect host, and able to answer all our questions, and thanks also to Alicia who was there for our last day to see us safely away. To all the staff thank you so much for making our family holiday one to treasure forever, to see the animals in their natural habitat was a privilege we will not forget. Finally I must thank my daughter Lucy for doing the research and finding 'Naledi' I trusted in her and she came up trumps, thanks Lucy.
