“little piece of heaven”
Reviewed March 13, 2011

just a few words will be adequate to summary our journey there : it was just perfect, the welcoming, the rooms, the meals (just amazing), the safaris (we saw four of the big five) and the place itself! I highly recommand the place to everyone.
Just a remark, it is better to speak english, otherwise, communication about the marvels of nature are difficult.
Just enjoy

We had a wonderful experience and the hosts go out of their way to make things right. Compared to the many different private properties alongside Kruger, this place offers the best value at a fair price. It is not a luxury property but very comfortable and appropriate to the surroundings of the wild. Game drives and food were excellent. They tried very hard to satisfy my wife's glutten-free diet, but she ended up getting sick after one dinner probably by accidental contamination in their kitchen or in something they purchased. The only complaint I would have is in their adament stance that it was impossible that she got sick from their meal and must have been caused by Malaria pills (which she wasn't taking) or some other food or condition ... even though all symptons (inlcuding 2-3 hours after eating the meal) point to the dinner as the source ... and she did not get sick at all afterwards. There is no way that they can know everything they bought was glutten-free at the plant (not contaminated) or that some inadvertent accident happened in their kitchen with utensiles or similar. There was no doubt it was an accident but we didn't like how they came across as blameless like no one makes mistakes.

Anyway .... if we ignore that incident, where my wife could not make the next day's game drives due to illness, it was a wonderful experience and enjoyed the hosts' and workers' hospitality. We saw 4 out of the big 5 (only the rhino slipped our viewing) and numerous other anmals - it was especially exciting to see the leopard in the wild after a long chase to find him.

Highly recommended for a great experience, value and a genuine game park stay.

We stayed with two couples for two nights at Naledi (we would recommend to stay a bit longer if you have the possibility). Naledi is a very small-scale place (it sleeps max eight people) and we were even so lucky to have the whole place for ourselves. We stayed at the Leadwood accomodation, which consists of two large suited (each with a beautiful bathroom), a shared veranda and kitchen and we had our own splash pool.
Just after our arrival (around 16:30h) we were already invited for our first game drive. We had two more game drives on our second day and one more on the day that we were leaving again. The game drives are pretty long: 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon. But there was always a break for tea/coffee/snacks/drinks etc. We have not seen that many animals during all our game drives but we had a very nice close encounter with lions. Anyway, the game drives were still great fun!
And any unfortunate game drive was compensated by the very nice meals that were served for us. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner we were served beautiful, very tasty meals!
Besides this, there is a very nice viewing deck where you may spot animals, do some exercises (there is a cross trainer and some dumbbells), enjoy some books etcetera.
We would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This was a fantastic experience from the game drives to the attention to detail.
From the very first minute we were made to feel welcome and at home by Kjell and the team.
The accommodation is first rate and the personal attention ensured we lacked for nothing.
No guarantees can be given regarding the success of the game drives but the experience of Kjell and Billy gave us every chance of inspiring encounters, of which we had plenty!
Every meal was different and nothing like we would cook at home, and all the more enjoyable for it. Eating together gave the stay a feeling of being among friends.
Our 10 year old daughter was made to feel very special and was pleased to state that she thought the holiday was better than Disney!
We would definitely return to Naledi if we got the chance and we have already recommended the experience to friends.

I don't know where to begin. Simply fabulous - I studied all the TripAdvisor reviews before I booked and all the way up to the start of the trip and they all were rave reviews so I expected it to live up to that. It did. And exceeded the reviews. Maybe it's the magic of being in the bush, maybe it's the super clean and tidy grounds, lodges and common areas, maybe the gourmet food 3 times per day, maybe the top notch owners and staff... probably all of the above but the moment we got in the car to drive away, we were misty-eyed and felt like we were leaving a place we were supposed to be. We've been a quite a few cool places, lush tropical islands and the like but never have my husband and I been that sad to leave a place. Kjell, Craig, Billy & Sam were wonderful as were the many other staff that we never got to meet - & only knew they were there because each time we returned from a game drive, our lodge was immaculately clean and beds turned down in the evenings. I could go on for days about the great things that go on at Naledi but you really should just experience it on your own. The wildlife sighting are amazing and Kjell and Billy do everything they can to make sure guests see as many animals as they can. The leopard eluded us but that only gives us a reason to go back and try again. Without the leopard though we saw more wildlife than I had even hoped. Morning coffee and evening sundowners in the bush are greatly missed - what a great way to start and end each day. I can't wait to return and highly recommend that you give Naledi a chance to show you how wonderful it is.... just don't all go at once when I'm trying to book my return trip. :-)

We stayed four days in naledi bushcamp and had a very enjoyable time. Everything was perfect: the food delicious, the hosts extraordinary friendly, open and helpful, the bushcamp itself fantastic and the rides breathtaking. We will definitively come again.

Ein wundervoller Ort inmitten des Wildlebens mit sehr freundlichen Gastgebern, liebevoll zubereiteten Mahlzeiten und atemberaubenden Ausfahrten. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Our stay at Naledi was amazing from start to finish with the only disapointment being the fact that we had to leave. The games drives with Kjell & Billy were fantastic and their knowledge of the bush incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed our bushwalk with Billy which was informative and his local knowledge was interesting although some of the stories he came up with had us in stitches.

The food was beyond 5 * and the variety of meals served by Kim and her staff incredible. Kim is one talented chef which is clearly reflected in her work.

The small touches such as amarula at the end of the evening drives made it even more special. As it was our honeymoon they arranged a private dinner on one of the viewing decks on our last night.

We would like to thank Kjell, Kim, Billy and all the staff at Naledi for helping to make our honeymoon extra special. As I mentioned earlier we didn't want to leave but we definitely will be back.
