A Magical Start to our Honeymoon

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jan 6, 2007
Tintswalo was the first stop on our honeymoon & we both wished we were staying there for the entire trip! It was a true 5 star, luxury resort, with the service more than exceeding our expectations.

We saw 4 of the big 5 game on our drives, and we really enjoyed our guide, Patrick, and our tracker, Maurice. They both made every effort to make sure we saw as much game as possible, as well as get as close as possible to the animals. It was a fantastic experience.

There is one specific time that stands out in our minds. My husband's birthday fell while we were staying at Tintswalo. I had worked with our travel agent prior to arrival to set up a special birthday dinner. But the dinner that put together blew our minds! They set up a gourmet meal literally in the middle of the bush complete with a 3 course meal, excellent wine, our butler, Elvis, and a special Happy Birthday serenade by the group! They had the site lined with candles & tiki tourches, making the night incredibly romantic!

Overall, this was by far the nicest resort & best service we have both ever experienced. Hats off to Craig and the rest of the staff there, especially Patrick, Elvis & Maurice.

My hubsband and I where lucky enough to spend the first part of our honeymoon at the lodge in march 2006 and it was the best 2 days ever.

We where made to feel at home, every staff member knew us by name and always has a smile for us, our driver Patrick and giude Eric where fantastic guys, they had us up early in the moring and out late into the night showing us the best that africa had to offer.

They took great care of us and I got some wonderful pictures.

Elvis our buttler had us laughing all the time, the service and food was amazing. If you like your wine they have a beautfully stocked cellar.

The Lodge has a Clairns Spa and my husband spoiled me and booked a full body massage. As a wedding present friends of ours book the Spa bath for us , the bath is outside on a large deck and the team filled it with scented water and rose petals and surrounded it wth candles and there was even a bottle of bubbly.

The suits are all private and you feel like you have your own little piece of heaven, the four poster bed is huge and the view from it out on the deck and passed the plunge pool is stunning.

We will make sure that the next time we are back in South Africa we vist again.

The magnificence of the Kruger Park in South Africa and the abundance of "Big 5" game viewing is legendary. The unexpected pleasure of a true 5 star experience in the middle of the bush is also often documented in travel advisories but definitely does need to be experienced to be believed.

Tintswalo Safari Lodge has both of these magnificent experiences awaiting the guest.

But what separates Tintswalo from the rest is the non-stop care from its incomparable management and staff. Myself and my wife have been treated like royalty twice at Tintswalo. First when it opened in 2003 and more recently in July of 2006.

Do not go to Tintswalo unless you feel you have fully earned a most delightful and rewarding vacation. Otherwise you may end up feeling a bit guilty when receiving such incredible service from the highly competent and caring Tintswalo staff.
