we spent 3 incredible days and nights here, great service, Grant was our guide and we had amazing wildlife sitings. Food services were great, accommodations for my families dietary needs were handled nicely. Michael was our bartender and we always had whatever drinks we needed. The rooms were spacious, clean and beautifully appointed. Dinner with the owners in the boma was a great experience, we highly recommend this game reserve!

Room Tip: any room, because they all had great views

When you arrive you are met by your game drive ranger and he handles everything. Your luggage, what you want for beverages, hot water bottles on a cold morning ect. We just got back and there winter is the best time to go. Not hot (day time 60's) not the rainy season so no mosquitoes, and the animals are active since it is not so hot. You go out after breakfast at 7:30 return around 11:00, have lunch at 1PM and go out again at 3PM coming back after dark around 6:45. You have a sundowner (what ever you want your ranger takes it) out in the bush around 5PM. See saw the big 5 our 1st full day and had a wonderful time. Great facility

Room Tip: A room facing the river so you see the animal activity from your deck

Having done previous photo safaris, we thought we had seen luxury in Africa, but this topped all the rest and as for the wildlife -- it was in the top 2 of the best game viewing experience ever, only rivaled by Botswana. And the 2 cannot fairly be compared. Our every need was seen to and we chose to stay out all day most days to see more wildlife. The chef and his staff packed amazing breakfast and lunch baskets and we had coffee at sunrise w/some incredible views. Can't say enough great things about the entire staff. Every single member gives 110% to the guests. Sadly, We barely had time to use our private plunge pool. THe villas are huge and so luxurious. Separate dressing rooms/baths for myself and my hubby. amazing!!!!!

Room Tip: there is no bad room -- all villas face the river.

MalaMala is a place anyone who is keen on wildlife needs to visit once in their lives. Everything from the food to the service to the comfort to the safari was second to none.

If i had to say one thing that would be negative it is that we had to share a jeep while on safari. I would think for the price you pay they would give you your own jeep. But our guide explained to us that they have only a certain number of vehicles in the reserve and they do not want to increase that as then the animals would get disturbed which makes sense.

But we shared with family and friends so it was fine.

Our guide was amazing and we had some crazy sightings.

I will visit again soon for sure.

Great place.

This was to be our final four days in our African holiday--and we were not disappointed! This lodge has everything you could want and then some. The rooms all face the river or the waterhole-either is great. Rooms are very spacious, extremely well stocked with everything you need. The game viewing is the best--and we have seen a few. It took just an hour to see three of the big five. A couple of hours later we saw the rest and as well a whole lot more. The guides/ drivers are outstanding and very respectful of the animals in the way they are viewed--you felt like an invited guest into the animals world. A truly amazing experience we will never forget and a great way to finish our a month long African holiday. The staff sang traditional songs for us during dinner and birthdays and anniversaries were recognised and that was after a 14 hour day- nothing was too much to make this a memorable place to be. Food choices are extensive and very good. You will be uplifted by visiting this place! We are coming back one day....
