Stopped to have coffee and a sweet after ziplining. We were pleasantly surprised to also enjoy some jazz! Loved it.

First night in town and after looking at the menu on-line, we decided to try this place for a light dinner. When we walked in, we saw what looked like a dining room beyond the coffee shop area. The barista told us to let the bartender know if we wanted food. We were told to sit anywhere and found a table where we could enjoy the live music. The server(bartender?) approached and the first thing out of her mouth was “Our two specials tonight are A and B.” Not “Hi” or any other friendly greeting. Then she just looked at us. A bit taken aback, we looked at each other, and said we were really looking for something light, like soup. “Oh, we have have soup” says our waitress. OK, then, care to tell us what soup you have? “C and D.” We ordered one of each. Would we like anything to drink, she asks. We have beer on tap and bottled beer (she rattles off some names). Do you have wine? She replies, Yes. OK, what kind? She replies “We have red and white.” This is getting tedious, but I bite...what red wine do you have? “Er, um, we have E, F & I think G.” We’ll go with F. Soup comes, and it was delicious. Later find out there was actually a bar menu of cocktails, sangria, etc. but somehow this wasn’t important enough for our waitress to tell us about. Painful experience at this place. 4.5 stars for good food, but can only give overall a 2 star rating strictly on poor & inattentive/ambivalent service. They advertise breakfast, lunch and dinner, and we even saw a menu on-line, but we were given 2 choices for a meal! Confused. If we weren’t so exhausted after a long day of driving, we would’ve asked more questions, but as it was, we ate our soup, bought some coffee on the way out & left.

We enjoy coming here for coffee whenever we're in Ruidoso. The friendly staff will fix your coffee or tea however you'd like. And it's always good.

Went with family after hiking near Bonita Lake. After waiting 45 minutes, my sister went up to the front to inquire about the appetizer plate for the 4 hungry kids and was told it would be an hour for our food, because “they were slammed with orders.” We’ve been coming here for years, have actually been there when they were slammed and they got the food out faster than we had already waited. The place was nearly empty at 2pm. The young staff at the front seemed much more interested in their phones than in serving customers. The food is still pretty good, but is it worth the wait? We were finally served after being there for 1.5 hours. The bartender did come and try to placate us. Told us the owners rarely came in any more and the wait staff was very young and inexperienced. No kidding.
