First stay at Crown Point and the views are wonderful - feels like you are close to heaven!!

However, there are some things that everyone should be informed of prior to staying that no one at the office bothered to tell us.
1. Don't use the water for anything other than cooking - do not drink the water, and do not use it for your coffee because it curdles your coffee creamer. We even called the front office and they brought us a new coffee pot, but they told us "it's not the coffee maker, just don't use our water it's not good."
2. Bring your own pans - the one's they supply are stainless steel and they stick very very badly, and you can't cook eggs, meats, food...etc...
3. Bathroom in master bedroom is not equip for everyone - it's very small and not much room at all to move around
4. Drains were not flowing and the shower would not drain - asked the front office how often they are cleaned, and they didn't even know what we were talking about.
5. The deck is not maintained - they are made of wood and they splinter and cause you to have to wear your shoes all the time
6. When you check in they tell you not to be loud, and to respect the other guests, that's fine but when you have the cleaning staff standing outside your window early in the morning talking about personal things very loudly, and they wake you up that's unacceptable. I don't care about why Mary hasn't been to work, and I don't care about how many great things you can get at the dollar store.
7. Parking is horrible! each road it dead end and there is no signage stating that there is no outlet. Also, there is no space to turn around and hardly enough room to maneuver around vehicles

When we called to complain at the front office they said, "please hold and i'll transfer you to the General Manager." Of course no one answered and it went to voicemail....do you think a member of the staff has come to check on us and follow up on our complaint? Well the answer is no!!

We will not be back, and we will not recommend Crown Point Condominiums to our family, friends or strangers on the street.

We stayed here at the end of March 2014. Very family friendly. The kids had a blast swimming in the enclosed pool and renting outdated dvds. The view from our rooms were awesome. We live in Los Angeles, so seeing this many trees and snow was something special. We stayed in a 3 bedroom condo, bi level. Loved it. There were some squeaks in the floor, here and there but not much to complain about. The staff was super friendly and were always helpful with any questions we had. Would stay there again, for sure.

We stayed here for two weeks through an RCI exchange. Our unit was comfortable and had a nice deck, with an excellent view overlooking the village of Ruidoso. The carpeting was acceptably clean, and the beds, as well as the furnishings in the living room, were very comfortable. Our kitchen had a new electric range, and there were no issues with anything in our unit (except for the dishwasher being preset so that one cannot choose any other setting than what has been preset -- a policy that so many timeshare places have adopted). Maintenance on the exterior of the building is lacking. The steps from the adjacent parking area down to our building were slanted and the railings were loose. The railings need to be scraped, sanded, and restained or painted -- we both got slivers from the railings because they have not been maintained. There was scattered trash on the hill behind our building -- they need to have a crew clean that up. There was no information in our room regarding television channels or local restaurants, sites, etc. Apparently the owners association has determined NOT to provide those to guests, However, the front desk staff was gracious in providing us with all of that. The Saturday morning presentation on places to go and things to do in the Ruidoso area was very helpful. And no sales presentation! The front desk gave us some good recommendations on local restaurants. There are no washers/dryers in the units, but there is a guest laundry room on site, with coin operated machines. The swimming pool was undergoing repair while we were there. Work on it progressed daily during our first week there, but there seemed to be no work on it during our second week. We were not crazy about the Ruidoso area in general, but if one is going there, I think that Crown Point is probably as good a place for an extended stay as any other.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in a building that has a view overlooking Ruidoso.

I stayed here in a 2 bed condo with friends who were getting married in Ruidoso. These condos are nice, not luxurious by any means, but the lodging in places like this usually isn't. Not sure whether it's people's expectations that are too high or what - this isn't Aspen, folks! There are some small updates, like in the bathroom countertops. I would have liked an extra pillow or two, but I managed just fine with what was there. The fireplace is a nice touch, and especially so when it's cooler and windy outside as it was when we were there. The kitchen was fine, the balcony was wonderful and the view was unsurpassed.

I can't comment too much on the noise, as we were there in off-season this past weekend and it was not full at all. It's definitely more quiet and serene than the lodging places down the mountain since it's away from the main road. Used the laundry facilities in the main building, which was convenient and worked well for my clothes. Only thing I would suggest is for them to maybe add an ATM up there or set up the machines to take cards. I didn't have cash, and surely wasn't about to drive down the hill just to get it for the laundry.

The way I see it, it's a pretty well-balanced place to stay for what you pay. They do need to make further updates, just to add some 'polish' to the condos though.

Our family came here for Christmas and stayed for 7 days. The room itself was decent, however, that was the only good thing. The condos were very poorly constructed. The walls are paper thin, and so are the floors. You can hear every word and footstep from your neighbors. We were on the bottom floor, and 6 people were above us. They were up every morning at 6am, and we could hear their every move and conversation. The floor creaked like an old attic floor. Very annoying!
Out of the 7 days we were there, we never had a warm/hot shower. The water was ice cold. Management told us there were 60 units, and that the property sits 1 mile up from the main road. "It's too hard to get hard water up here," they said. Really? It was 24 degrees outside, and no hot water. This also meant that the dishes couldn't be cleaned properly, and by the end of the week, they looked like we had bought them at a garage sale. GROSS!
There were also no cleaning products (counter cleaner, sponges, etc.) to clean the kitchen. If we wanted it, we had to go buy it.
There were no services at all during our stay. If you wanted clean towels, you could get them once, if you took your dirty stuff to the office. No trash service. We had to take our trash in our car down to the dumpsters. We had to figure out how to get the snow off our steps, and the parking lot was a sheet of ice. Someone hit my BMW, and left.
The pool was freezing.
Wifi never worked.
Kitchen needs more items to cook.
The workout room was a joke. It consisted of a dated treadmill and weights.
The pool table was covered with brochures and pamphlets, so you couldn't use it.
The pictures on the website look better than the actual facility. Very deceiving!
They "start you off" with toilet paper and a roll of paper towels. If you need more, you need to buy it. We ran out of toilet paper and called the office, they told us to go to the store. Seriously?
Basically, this place is a joke and a waste of money.
Other places we have stayed are all about customer service. The staff here, didn't seem to care, and was very rude when we called with a problem. Basically, we were told to deal with it!

Room Tip: We were in the 800 unit. It sucked!

We used some extra RCI trading points to take a quick trip to Ruidoso with some friends and booked this place. There were 6 of us (3 couples) and we got a 3 bedroom condo.

The view was amazing. We were in 602 and had a wonderful view of Sierra Blanca. Look at the floor plans online to see what rooms have a good view; those on the same side as the 600 building face the mountain.

The condo itself left something to be desired. The size was fine and it slept the 6 of us, but the place was incredibly dated. The bathrooms looked like they belonged in a college rental house and there were two doors missing from the kitchen cabinets. The craftsmanship was also poorly done (there were gaps where the stairs met the wall and the bathrooms had several holes in the walls from what looked like multiple attempts to hand the towel rack and toilet paper holder), paint was an ugly goldenrod yellow.

The decor was very dated, however, the room was clean. But, we were not given any dishrags or sponges to do dishes (usually included with an RCI condo exchange).

The pool and hot tub were adequate.

Oh and there are outdoor cats (strays, presumably). They are friendly and cute. Most of our group loved cats so we thought they were adorable.

We will likely return because the staff was friendly, the view was great, we can use our RCI points and Ruidoso is a quick trip from our house. Just don't expect a super nice room if you decide to stay here.

This was a freat place to stay. We stayed in the 2 br condo it was well stocked with everything we needed to enjoy a weekend. The staff went above and beyond to add to our weekend with activity ideas and available board games to pass the afternoons in our condo. Will definitely stay here again
