This is without doubt one of the best places we have ever been to. Staff friendly, efficient always happy and cheerful. We had sightings of the big 5 plus cheetahs, 1 one day and another mother and cub on another day. The food is good and the atmosphere is just idyllic, peaceful yet always animals to see. Rangers and trackers very knowledgeable, it has always been a pleasure to visit. Hope to go back very soon to chill and recharge batteries. A little of heaven on earth. Baby hippo 1 week old too cute.

Had 3 nights here exploring Sabi Sands, wish we had had longer.
Our guide (Roy) and tracker (Chris) worked well together and we had some great sightings of leopard. Roy took us out on a bush walk (we went twice) and it was excellent learning about the flora, spoor etc.
When we were not out on a game drive sitting on the veranda of our room watching the water hole was a constant source of delight - it was permanently inhabited by very noisy and active hippos which was great.
Staff were helpful even down to letting us use the office computer to check in on line and to print our boarding passes.
The food was excellent. A choice out of three for lunch and then a choice of two different cakes for 'high tea' before the afternoon game drive. Dinner was a set menu. Two of the nights we ate under the stars.
Good wildlife watching policy and guides and trackers respectful of the animals.

Room tip: Go for a standard room - they overlook the waterhole. Superior rooms look into the bush.

It was a fun and memorable experience staying at Arathusa. We stayed 2 nights at the luxury chalet called Tamboti, which is a little far from the main reception of the lodge. It was a little inconvenient as the guides have to come fetch you to the main reception, or to escort you back to the chalet for safety reasons [the lodge does not have an electric fence around its chalets], but we found this experience worth it - when you are in the chalet, you feel totally immersed in the safari environment. In fact, we had giraffes, impalas and kudus [and even hyenas on one night] grazing just outside our chalet from time to time. The chalet itself, while the furniture was a little old, was spacious and comfortable. You have a clear view of the natural surroundings both from the bath tub and the shower room through the large glass windows.

The game drives were just as fun, thanks to Dries and Derek! our guide and tracker respectively. We saw many animals, including water buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, rhinos, kudus and the 3 cats i.e. the leopards, lions and a cheetah [with a kill, on our last day's drive!]. Arathusa was our 2nd lodge at Sabi Plains, and we found that the experience here was complementary to our earlier lodge as we got to explore different parts of Sabi Plains.

Very rarely do I want to go back somewhere. I will, however, definitely come back to Arathusa! Our ranger Jacques and tracker Chris were simply amazing.
We booked a standard room but I really cannot think of anything else I would want to have which was not in the standard room. Very clean, very charming and what an amazing view!
A big thanks to the entire staff and we hope to be able to come back very soon.

From being welcomed when we arrived through to our departure the whole team at Arathusa could not have been more friendly or helpful. The two game drives together with a bush walk meant that we spent over seven hours learning about the bush, the animals and birds. Our guide Roy was first rate as was spotter Chris and they showed us things we had never seen before - very knowledgable. We had a great room overlooking the water hole which was well kept up and with all we needed. The meals both at the lodge and in the wild were amazing. The chef was the wholly passionate in all he did including pre dinner descriptions of what we were about to eat. Great place

Room tip: The luxury rooms are great and you are completely on your own but they are a walk while the standard rooms overlook the water hole
