For years we have been dreaming of visiting the famous Sabi Sand Wildtuin / Game Reserve, and this year with our 10th wedding anniversary - we decided to make our dream come true. We booked 3 nights at Notten's Bush Camp, and enjoyed every aspect of the experience!
There really is just something different to a family-run business - and this is the same for Notten's. Managers of lodges can be very good - but it's not their property, the place where they grew up and the place they want to leave behind for their children. This family is obviously passionate about their lodge - and it is visible in even the finest detail. Dave and Dale Notten run the lodge, and are excellent hosts! Their hospitality was true to our country, and the way they hosted and entertained made us very proud as the only South Africans amongst overseas guests. This is the kind of hospitality I believe visitors should experience in our country.
Wildlife in the park was amazing, and it stood up to its reputation. The famous "big 5" were easily observed and during our 3 night stay we saw mating lions twice! Some other visitors to the lodge saw mating leopards on their drive! Rare and beautiful sightings seem to abound. As already mentioned, they try not to cram people into the game viewing vehicles - and that is a huge plus point in my opinion....For years we have been dreaming of visiting the famous Sabi Sand Wildtuin / Game Reserve, and this year with our 10th wedding anniversary - we decided to make our dream come true. The food was spectacular - budget on gaining a kg or 3! Good, fresh South African food, prepared and served in style. You will love it!
At Notten's they also spare no trouble to make your special occasion memorable. We were spoiled with a hot bubble bath with petals, candle light and champagne with chocolates on our anniversary. Another guest got a beautiful cake for his birthday. It's the perfect place to spend that special day!More
