After a nice drive from nelspruit we arrived at nottens for 3 nights and i wished we had stayed longer.Dale and the team were great hosts and the accomodation was excellent. The candles and lamps instead of electricity are a nice touch in the rooms. Also at dinner they really gave a great atmosphere. Our guide chase was just brilliant. If he doesn't know the answer to your question it wasn't worth asking.Treated on our first game drive to a pride with 2 males and several females as well as 2 cubs all snacking on a downed buffalo. We went back next morning and there was litteraly nothing left !!We did a walk with chase which was a little daunting but at all times he made you feel safe and it was really different from being in the vehicles.A couple of cheeky monkeys and squirrels around our room was good entertainment. All up i will definitely visit nottens again when i get the chance.

This place is ran very nicely by Dale. He makes the trip very special. The food/staff and surroundings are just great. We had the family room by the main area. It was very spacious and nice with outdoor shower/tub. Dinners, everyone sits together so it's a nice way to meet people. The candles/lanterns add a nice touch to everything. This place is great.

Room Tip: we had the family room by the main bldg. very large and nice. you can get the internet in the 2nd bedroom as its next to office.

We spent six nights at Nottens, on the recommendation of South African friends, and would have gladly stayed longer. Of course we saw the Big 5 - and many, many more thanks to our highly skilled rangers. But we also learned of the ecology of the bush, and the relationships between the denizens, from lion to dung beetle; from weaver bird to the innocuous-looking plant that scratched in water produces soap; from the value of the elephants destroying the underbark for food, leaving the tree to die and in turn provide shelter for miniature mongooses and other fauna.

And of course the sundowner in the bush after the evening game drive and the conviviality of the dinner table, reinforced by the truly excellent food - Impala kebab anyone? - and drink, all animated by Dale, David, and Suzee.

Be prepared for the experience of a lifetime.

Room Tip: There are six buildings for two, and two more for four. All are well located, close to the main lodge.

Wow, what an amazing experience! We stayed 3 nights at Nottens and enjoyed every minute - even the 5.30am starts! Dale and his team are so friendly and really make you feel at home. The food is fantastic catering for everyone including vegetarians and we couldn't get enough of the freshly baked bread. Nottens was also recommended by Rhino tours as we were totally confused with so many lodges available and they were spot on with everything. We saw the "Big Five" along with loads of other animals and our daughter saw elephants while showering - I'm sure that memory will stay with her forever as will our time spent at Nottens. Can't wait to go back.

We had a fantastic time at Notten's Bush camp, it is very much an intimate family run camp and the whole team were excellent from David, Mia and Dale to Gift, Joseph, Ryden and Sipo. We saw 4 out of the Big 5 and were completely in awe of the amazing surroundings! Our ranger Joseph had an outstanding amount of knowledge about the animals and a real respect for the bush. The bush walks were also brilliant during the day. Everything about the service was out of this world, the food was awesome and the chef very kindly made some brilliant gluten free treats! Each day was very different and the dinners were extremely entertaining in the evening..especially the boma on the first night, you really are so close to the bush! On our arrival we were entertained by a herd of elepants who decided to visit the camp! Each evening we were met after the safari drive by the team and were escorted to our rooms to get ready for dinner. The spa is also fantastic, the treatments are highly recommended. All in all this was an experience to remember and I would definitely recomment Notten's!
