Everything about Selati is wonderful. The rooms and property are gorgeous. Nothing is more relaxing than an outdoor shower or bath (except for maybe the fact that, since there are no fences, there's always the chance of some wildlife joining you...) Our guide, Martin, was superb, as was our tracker. The staff is phenomenal, ensuring that you are comfortable and have a wonderful experience. Of course, the safaris are amazing, and you are guaranteed to see incredible things - especially leopards, which are easier to find in Sabi Sands than in most other reserves in the country.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed great and relatively similar. We were in Room 7, which was perfect.

Martin our ranger was an encyclopedia of knowledge. He found a way to tie everything together. Saw all the big 5 and much more. It is an experience we will never forget. Rooms where large and clean. Trucks had a soft ride. Food was incredible.

We stayed at Selati for 3 nights. Our accommodation was magnificent, we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite which was superb! Our experiences out on the drives were also wonderful so why does our stay only rate an average score? We went onto Selati after a 4 night stay at Ngala Tented Camp and unfortunately, despite the more luxurious surroundings, found Selati to be lacking in a number of key areas, specifically around its staff. We found the waiting on staff to be very dour and lacking any real enthusiasm for their job, service was incredibly slow dinner was set for 7.30 but we did not even sit down until well after 8.00pm a startling contrast to the staff at Ngala. The senior staff appeared superficial. Our guide and tracker were both wonderful and our gaming experience very good indeed but despite all this we would not return because of the lack of genuine interest from the staff in general.

Room Tip: All rooms were beautiflul

This was my second trip to Africa (Botswana last year with my husband), and I wanted our young adult daughters to have a great experience, too. We couldn't have stayed in a better camp. Everything went smoothly from the minute we landed in our bush plane through the day of departure. I stayed in the Ivory Suite and felt like Isaak Dinesen/Karen Blixen in Out of Africa. The food was truly gourmet. The Guides were warm, friendly, well educated, and extremely knowledgeable. They each were paired with a local native Tracker, who brilliantly found and placed us within picture perfect reach of every one of the Big Five and more. The resort management is extremely professional and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for more.

Room Tip: Important to know that if kids are sharing a room and don't want to share a bed, the accommodations are not equal. One of my daughters got the king bed and the other, the twin. We would have preferred it if the lodge provided some rooms with two doubles or two twins.

I can't say enough about this safari experience. The Selati camp in Sabi Sabi is amazing!
Stayed 5 days (8 safaris) awesome experience! The camp is small, around 8 cabins with a main viewing/dining and bar area. Service and food were amazing. The cabins are beautiful with canopy beds and outdoor showers. All close to the main area. Cocktails overlooking the open expanse was gorgeous. No fences = scary but exciting. As a family of 5 we had our own jeep with our own tracker and ranger for the duration. Mike and Kosi were amazing. Each 3 hour safari was new and exciting. Experience of a lifetime. Sabi sabi is well run, no lack of animal viewing and not a pile of jeeps making things uncomfortable. Beautiful land and camps. The whole experience with the flight in from joburg to being picked up and seeing giraffe, zebra etc on the way to camp to the safari and stay itself were perfect.
Selati is one of the smaller camps in Sabi Sabi. Too quiet for some but perfect for us. There is a small pool but this is not heated (that would be the only upgrade I would wish for). Tons of action for our family with a spa at bush lodge and a visit into the community thrown in.

Room Tip: rooms are all beautiful
