Following Tripadvisor's advice, we stopped at Billy Ray's for dinner. The restaurant is a bit hard to find, with no obvious signage on a side street in Roswell.

My friend and I shared the Southwestern Beef Wellington. The dish was beef wellington with a definite New Mexican twist. The beef was wrapped in a tortilla and served with red and green chile (of course), rice, and beans. The service was excellent, and the chef came out to chat.

Our server recommended the cheesecake for dessert, and, although we usually skip dessert, we were convinced to order a piece. It was well worth the additional calories.

Several times a year we drive through Roswell, and we plan to be back at Billy Ray's.

Something new! Chef Todd has created filet mignon sliders, and they are good. Definitely a cut above the standard offering elsewhere in town, We have been going there for years and have never bee disappointed with the food or the service. Keep up the good work.

This place lives up to the ratings. First, the service is great. They are very friendly, and really seem to like having you in their place. When you order, the chef may come out and chat you up. With the information, don't be surprised to see a message spelled out on your plate.

The steak stuffed with green chile is the thing to order. It is an inspired piece of work. However, the salad loses a star for the place. It is iceberg lettuces with a couple of slices of tomato. It wouldn't take much to do a mixed green with a couple creative toppings. That was a head shaker.

Also, when you walk in, it just looks like a local watering hole. Of course it is! Don't let the basic look fool you. The main course and service is top notch. I think the top chefs at the big restaurants could take a lesson from this guy. He even came out afterwards and asked questions about the meal, and showed an interest in me. Reading other reviews, you can tell he does that quite a bit.

Typical small town cafe. Good meeting place for a good piece of pie and coffee. The prime rib was good, slightly overdone but tasted good. Wait staff very friendly.

Read the reviews on here and decided on Billy Rays for dinner. So glad we did! It's a bar that serves damn good food :) Relleno stuffed ribeye and chicken enchiladas along with queso and a couple drinks was $50. Great waitress, chef came out to talk to us, and a great atmosphere - two big thumbs up!
