“Town of Roswell”
Reviewed May 17, 2012

Wish I could have stayed longer and/or brought my family. My son would have loved to see all the "alien" related centers, stores, restaurants & shops. Cute town & they have a "Starbucks" - yippee!

It was interesting, but to much reading for the kids...they got bored fast.

“You can see it in a very short amount of time.”
Reviewed December 11, 2011

The old buildings are very charming. There was plenty of free parking the weekday that we were there. Most of the shops were alien gift stores -- and the merchandise was similar from place to place. I would not recommend going out of your way to spend time here, but if you're driving through, then it's an okay place to stroll for a half-hour.

“Take a stroll through downtown Roswell”
Reviewed October 26, 2010

Here's the deal, people. Roswell is what Roswell is. A part of it is dedicated to all of the alien fun while the rest is just a sleepy little Southwestern town with good people. The downtown area is where the alien fun is at. From the UFO-shaped McDonalds to the alien street lights to the kitschy shops to the green alien footprints on the sidewalks, Roswell embraces the fun. The people are the best part - they are good-hearted people who are used to dealing with tourists.

“Roswell, New Mexico (not Georgia!)”
Reviewed March 28, 2009

Roswell (New Mexico) began as a wild west cattle town after the Civil War. The historic downtown contains interesting buildings from the turn of the 20th century, a fancy 1911 Courthouse, and, of course, the UFO District, all easily accessable on foot. Detailed touring information is available in "Roswell, Your Travel Guide to the UFO Capital of the World!" available on Amazon or in local Roswell bookstores.
