Namaste is good, but not the number one restaurant in Rio Rancho. I was shocked to see their rating. The first time you are there the food is quite good. The problem is the menu never changes. However, I do go for the Samosas. That is one thing they don't need to change. I do not care for a steady diet of Indian/Nepalese food but do enjoy it on occasion. The atmosphere is definitely not for fine dining. It feels more like a "diner." One thing they do have going for them is the fact that you are greeted and served by the owners and members of their family. They are definitely hard working, are warm and friendly and quite attentive. Maybe they are rated number one because of their personal attention. That's hard to find in America these days. More power to them!

A group of us recently ate at this restaurant while on vacation visiting family who live in the area. We are a tough crowd when it comes to Indian food having lived in India and Nepal for many years. One of the reasons why we wanted to try this place is the fact that they offer more Nepali style options. We had the lunch buffet which was good, but we all concluded it was only average for Indian food as far as variety, spice, and traditionality are concerned. Also there were limited vegetarian options offered on the buffet compared to what we are used to. We did order some a la carte Nepali items too, specially momo's and chow chow. Those were excellent and the differentiator for us from this restaurant with any other random Indian place. We would probably go back in the future but only because of the close proximity to our relatives house and the relatively low prices.

The restaurant was semi crowded and the aromas were inviting. We were seated immediately with a very cheerful wait person. We have always enjoyed Indian food and most restaurants in and around this area are just so so. We did the lunch buffet, which is all you can eat, and were very pleasing surprised. The food was fresh and plentiful and the area was very clean.

Now for the good part....delicious extremely so! What more can I say? This restaurant is now top of our list when we visit Rio Rancho. We live 60 miles north of this area and travel to Albuquerque for business and always seek out different restaurants to visit before heading back home.

Would we visit here again....yes in a heart beat. If you have never tried Indian food, this is the place to visit and you will definity become a regular. The BEST.

Ate there for the first time today. Lunch buffet gives you a great opportunity to taste some delicious foods from India and Nepal. Loved the Saag Paneer (creamy spinach with exotic spices and homemade cheese), chicken tandoori, chicken curry and variety of chutneys. The Raiti (yogurt with cucumber and carrot) adds a nice, refreshing touch to the meal. The naan is served fresh. Was too full for dessert. Can not wait to go back for dinner to try different items from their lamb and seafood specialties. Service is excellent - most attentive, but not intrusive. Prices were very reasonable. All-in-all a delightful dining experience!

For those in the ABQ metro area who loved Bombay Grill, you'll find most of the dishes you loved and more. The owners, who worked at BG opened Namaste about a year after Bombay Grill closed. It's on a back street in Rio Rancho in what may be the oldest strip mall in the City of Vision. You will be warmly greeted by the owners and staff and enjoy top notch Indian cuisine (and don't forget to drink a Flying Horse.....ah! the most refreshing of brews) at much lower prices than BG. We love this place and eat here several times each month. It's one of the few places in the area where my husband can indulge himself with his favorite: goat curry. We've eaten almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.
