If you have a side by side this ain’t the place to stay! We had to park ours about 200 yards away from our cabin where we could not see it! Hauling everything back and fourth was a pain! We had items missing out of our side by side as there is zero security there! So we paid like $800 for 3 days in the stand alone cabin that the floors are very crooked! Toilets are like sitting in a rocking chair! The place needs attention badly! You get one small bundle of fire wood! Just not a very customer friendly place

Thank you for the review Patrick. Alpine Lodge has many visitors hauling trailers with ROV's. We have designated parking for both of these which has 24 hour video surveillance to help protect our guests. We also ALWAYS recommend that you do not leave personal items open in your vehicle. That can result in items being stolen anywhere you are. We would love to be able to allow guests to park their ROV's closer to their units but during our summer months and most fall weekends the whole town of Red River is packed with trailers and recreational vehicles and parking can become very limited very fast. If we make an exception for one guest we must make it for all guests which can congest parking very quickly and this becomes an inconvenience to other guests.

We have made many improvements to our Alpine Cabin like brand new living room furniture with a memory foam sleeper sofa, but know there is always room for improvement. Since taking over new ownership in November 2017 we have been constantly updating on all aspects of the lodge and will continue to do so.

We checked in on Friday and added Sunday night, we love the decor, nice friendly staff very knowledgeable, planning on future plans to stay here again. Red River flows behind the property. Local wildlife visits in the morning, lots of grills on property (gas and charcoal). Worth the price. Also nice and quiet

My husband and I have been visiting Red River, NM over Memorial Day Weekend for almost 20 years. Our very first stay was at the Alpine Lodge way back in 1997. As we got to know the town better, we tried other places and decided that we like the Copper King Lodge better, so we have been staying there annually, ever since. Recently, we were on a 3 week long motorcycle trip and we decided to spend a few days in Red River on the way home to Phoenix. We phoned our usual hotel, but since it was "around" the Labor Day weekend, they required a 3 night minimum stay and we only had two days to spend in RR. So, we phoned the Alpine Lodge and they were kind enough to accommodate us for only 2 days. We were grateful for that. We had cabin # 28, which we were told was a "new" Studio Suite. Our “cabin” was an 18 x 18 foot square room, with 12”x12” white tiles on the floor that need a good scrubbing. The ceiling is stucco’d and the walls are painted white and brown paneling. There are two windows that open (they appear newish), there is a noisy apartment size fridge, a double bowl SS sink and a 4- burner gas stove. There is a table with two chairs, a flat screen TV (about 32”) and a stick lamp with a giant shade that keeps hitting the wall, ceiling fan, 2 drawer dresser, microwave, dishes, pot & pans, coffee maker and kitchen utensils. There is also a large mirror. All of this is in the same room. The bathroom has a small toilet tucked behind the door, a full-size tub and a small sink and mirror. The bathroom looks like an afterthought. Everything worked in the room though the Queen size bed was not comfortable. Hubby and I continually rolled into each other during the night. The room could have been cleaner. This unit is part of a 4plex so there are neighbors all around. We were pretty much by ourselves the first night - but by the second day (the start of a Holiday Weekend), the place was crowded and noisy. Our next door neighbors arrived after 1 am with kids, lots of luggage, food, coolers and equipment and made no attempt to consider the hour or other guests. (Not the Alpine Lodge's fault, of course). If you are looking for peace and quiet, seclusion and relaxation - choose a place that has a free standing cabin, or somewhere more remote. There is a playground for the kids, BBQ's throughout the grounds and the river nearby. Come for the town, not for the Lodge.

Room Tip: choose a free standing cabin, not one that is part of a fourplex.

Thank you for the review! I'm sorry the Studio Suite did not meet your expectations. These rooms are loved by couples looking to come to Red River and do some cooking of their own and stay within their budget. Alpine Lodge offers 19 diverse room types so that our guests can find the perfect fit. We do appreciate the feedback so that we can go and address the issues listed in the review for room 28.

Alpine Lodge is a Red River hotel so all of our rooms are situated on our 4 acres of land. I'm sorry to hear that your neighbors were not very courteous of our quiet hours. Most of our guests are great about keeping our grounds quiet and peaceful but occasionally that is not the case and we know it can cause an inconvenience to other guests around them.

My husband and I usually rent a cabin when we go to Red River...but this time we wanted to stay in town and have the convenience of being able to walk to restaurants, etc. I did a lot of research...and decided to stay at the Alpine Lodge. We definitely wanted to have a little porch/balcony to sit on and enjoy the cool mornings and evenings! I am so glad that I requested the Honeymoon room! It is on the 3rd floor...so there are lots of stairs...so that is something to be aware of. The room had a really great king bed..with a really comfy mattress!!! There are two sides of windows in the room...so this is really great for air flow! (no air conditioning...but it isn't needed!!!). We were there in August...and it was nice and cool in our room. The bathroom is very basic...nothing fancy! This room also has a working fireplace for visitors in the winter months...that would be really cozy! We walked to bars/restaurants close by...but drove down the street to the Bull of the Woods and Dinner at the Love Love Saloon.

Room Tip: Better balcony/deck area on rooms located on the upper floors.

The bed and pillows are wonderful!! They are doing great upgrades! We just needed a 1 bedroom for a quick get away and are very pleased! They have many different sizes to offer. Love the fire pit, too! We will be back!
