We visited this lodge for a weekend ski trip from Colorado Springs. It was an easy drive to get there, similar time that it usually takes us to get to some of the Southern Colorado resorts. This lodge is extremely close to the lift and walking distance to places to eat and shop. It is a German style lodge similar to the other businesses in the area. There is history there also. The rooms are up kept and comfortably decorated. Nothing fancy but clean and convenient.

Room Tip: Room on the east side have views of the lift and the torchlight parade on Saturdays.

Felt like we were being hovered over. The lady kept asking how many people were staying in our room.
The beds were so awful that we came home a day early to get some sleep.
The location is perfect.
They told us we had to book 3 night minimum because this was their last room ,yet when it got there it clearly wasn't.
Staff was nosey and fake.

My family of 5 stayed here one night in December before heading to our cabin in Colorado. The owners were so friendly and flexible. December is peak season and they require a minimum number of nights when booking. However, they were not full and allowed us to stay one night. The rooms are older but you will find that everywhere in Red River. The rooms were very clean! You can't beat the location! We walked to dinner, breakfast, and most importantly it is very close to skiing! We stayed in the hotel part of the lodge but the cabins look very cute! I would definitely stay here again.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Alpine Lodge. The owners were so nice and accommodating! The rooms are a little outdated, which didn't bother us because we don't go on vacation to sit in our room! The bathroom was updated with newer fixtures, however. The only thing that we would slightly complain about are the signs posted all over the property...In the hot tub rooms there is a sign that says "no jumping or splashing in the hot tub" close the gate behind you on the fence leading to the road, no parking signs, only park head first sign, don't turn the furnace too high sign etc etc etc. I understand having rules, but it seemed like there was a rule for just about everything and that was a little obnoxious. I can handle excessive rules, so of course we would stay there again in the future!

We stayed last summer and came back to take our daughter skiing for the first time. Everyone there was again helpful and went beyond making us feel welcomed. The lodge is beautiful in the winter and again our room was exceptionally clean. We stayed in a room with a kitchen and two bedrooms which had a balcony where our daughter could see the torchlight parade. Staff helped us with ski rental recommendations as well as dinner spots. We had a great first experience with our daughter on her first trip to see snow and to ski.

This was our family's 1st ski trip together - hubby has skied lots over the years. Knowing that, he wanted to be sure our daughters 1st time on the slopes to be fun but not too difficult.... Hence Red River, NM. I don't ski so having someplace comfy, clean & in an easy location was important.... Take into account is a tiny little town & adjust your expextations - it'll be fine! Our unit was an excellent location, a 2 story bldg w/ "cabins" up & down w/ a good view of mountains & the practically tame deer that come hang out at at dusk. Beds were super comfy, kitchen was stocked fine & again, excellent staff & cleaning, location was ideal - just minutes walk to ski lifts & Main St. Only drawbacks were the updates needed. Bathroom was minuscule, a few small cob webs in the bathroom, carpeting & furniture very dated & needing scrubbing/disinfecting.

What can I say – we had a wonderful experience! Its location can’t be beat! We scouted around town and could not find another hotel that was both close to the chairlift and had views of the ski runs. This was important so we could get back to our room for breaks throughout the day and we both just really enjoyed watching skiers come down ‘The Face’. Other things we enjoyed about this hotel were the hot tubs and the dry sauna. It was very cold while we were there so warming up after skiing was a must. Our room was nicely appointed and fairly large with two queen beds, a nice vanity area, table and chairs, and in-room coffee service. Best of all it was very clean. It also had a large deck that would be great to sit out and take in the views but it was a little too chilly on this trip. We will try to come back this summer and stay in the same room.

Room Tip: We liked our room with a view of the ski runs.
