The food was clearly prepackaged and heated to order. The bartender did not know the drink menu and could not locate the drink we asked for, until later the server stated the bartender "found it". The food was presented cafeteria style and overdone.

"Lavosh" - very good, but not an appetizer. This is the size of a medium pizza and could be considered a meal. The salsa accompanied is also prepackaged.

Beef Brouchettes - large pieces of meat, cooked to medium rare (asked for medium). Prepackaged gravy that was jelly like and instant potatoes.

Chicken Fried Steak - overcooked and gravy solidified instantly. Instant potatoes as well.

It is difficult to find good dining experiences in resort areas - especially small mountain resorts.
Steak was ok, nothing special. Pricey.
However, staffing appears to be minimal and therefore provides the customer with a poor experience. 2 hostesses,( not sure why) and only 2 or perhaps 3 wait staff - handling too many tables and too many large parties.
Therefore difficult to get their attention or get them to revisit table.
I believe this is a management problem.

But wanted to do a feedback for the owners kindness and honesty. We would have ate there but didn't realize you pretty well need a reservation to get in at prime dinner hours on Saturdays(says something). He gave us a few great recomendations and he was correct Capo's was great! Thanks and we will visit one day.

I'm not picky and understand a few things going wrong here n there but I have NEVER had everything go wrong! We made reservations at 8 and they called us at 7:30 to say our table was ready. We got there around 7:45 and waited about 10 minutes for a waitress to come take our drink order and at that time we made sure to put our food order in too. We waited another 10 for her to bring our drinks. We all got salads with our meal and they came out about 30 minutes later. While in the middle of eating our salads the waitress comes back and tells us to take our time eating our salads because the kitchen was "backed up". The restaurant was NOT full and they looked to have plenty of help but all the employes seemed to be walking around with their heads up their rear ends like zombies. Thankfully we sat right beside the water pitchers and was able to fill our drinks because they didn't fill any of ours ONCE! While we waited for an hour and a half for our food, we witnessed not one but two tables who got fed up and left. When our food did come out everything was cold and terrible. We all left hungry and with a $125 ticket. Worst experience ever!!

After reading the reviews for Timbers we hesitatingly decided to make reservations for 5:30pm anyway as we were wanting to have a last dinner together with extended family.

We arrived on time and the tables had yet to be set up for our party of 11. We were seated and our waiter was there promptly. Drink orders were taken and were brought out in a respectable time. And it went down hill from there.

We waited over an hour and fifteen minutes for our dinner to arrive. All we heard from our waiter and the other wait staff speaking to other tables was that the kitchen was backed up. Interestingly enough, the upper floor of the restaurant where we were seated was three quarters empty. Tables of three and four people were waiting a long time for their meals as well. Two rounds of drinks were bought before the food arrived and by the time it did everyone was in need of another, but settled for water instead of the overpriced adult beverages.

Upon arrival of our meal, most of us found our food cold. My niece's pork chop was RAW and had to be sent back. My medium rare steak was cooked correctly, but had apparently been sitting out for awhile as it was COLD, along with the tasteless mashed potatoes. Everyone agreed (with the exception of the kids) that the food was of substandard quality and WAY overpriced.

To top it off, the waiter turned out to be none other than the owner! His main excuse for the evening: "Sorry, we are backed up in the kitchen." NO offers of anything except an excuse as to why the food and service were bad. For two adults and two kids it cost us $108 with tax for this slop. From the time we were seated to the time we left was well over two hours. With the exception of the owner and his excuses, the remainder of the staff appeared to be in zombie mode and had no idea as to what needed to be done to help a restaurant succeed.

When going to Red River, do not bother dining here. The issue with this restaurant and others there is that the town is geographically isolated so to speak and they appear to know they can get away with more there because of it.
