“Great food.”
Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

We ate here on our recent trip to Red River because someone recommended it to us. The food was great. The prices are kinda high but the food quality is worth it. It kinda reminded me of fine dining without the fine dining attire.

“Much. Much Better Than Its Inital Apperance”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

This place actually has very good food, but it looks like a common cafe. Don't let the appearance fool you. The chicken friend steak entry says "Waylon Jennings says Brett makes he best chicken fried steak in Texas." (Never mind this is NM! (He said that 25 years ago when Brett was in Austin.) I liked mine. My wife liked her spicy shrimp. A couple next to us ordered the seafood platter which was very impressive.

“Great Dinner”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

We recently had dinner at Brett's Bistro on a trip to Red River. The food was delicious. We had no wait and were seated quickly. We will definitely try Brett's again when in Red River.

“Great food in an odd place”
Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

The food was very good and the service was helpful and attentive but as mentioned below the atmosphere is weird. After seeing the menu online we were expecting a much nicer venue. They have steaks, lamb, lobster, fish, and king crab legs. We were a little shocked when we walked in. It looks more like a deli than a moderately upscale restaurant. It's crowded and loud but overall we had a good meal. Basic beer and wine selection but it would still be nice to have a list rather than bottles sitting out on a table across the room.

“Less than mediocre fare and poor service”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

Ate there for lunch. The decor is small town diner, service was with an attitude. The best of what we tried us the green chili cheeseburger served with handout fries. The burger was good (not as good as a couple of other offerings in town.) The fries were very good. Also had the Honey Hot chicken (dry and sauce too sweet.) Also the fettuccine primavera was a bit too runny on the sauce and bland.
Don't waste your time.
