We have stayed at Aspen Lodge several times and always have a great time. The part owner/manager Jason and his wife are great hosts. They also operate an on site jeep rental...very fair prices. They have lived in Red River for a long time and are great sources of information, helping us make the most of our trip. The location is great, just a block off of the main street, making it easy walking to anywhere in town. At the same time, it is very quiet...a mountain nearly in your back yard. Ample parking. The rooms are very nicely decorated, and our kitchen had everything we needed. Most nights, Jason has a campfire for guests.

Our room looked better than the posted pics. They had just remodeled it one month before our stay and it was nice and clean. Location was just off from Main Street and you could walk to practically anywhere in town for shopping, dining, and even hiking, and fishing. Lots of activities for families with young kids. Views outdoor (and even from inside) were awesome. Though Red River is known for it's winter attraction, there's lots to do during the summer and Aspen Lodge will make a great place to stay while you're there.

We really loved staying in this condo. There was plenty of room for our family. My daughters loved looking up at the starts at night through the sky light. The beds were really comfy and the jetted tub was amazing. We were just a block from local eateries and shops. The area was really quiet and so relaxing.

When we first walked in we could smell gas. Apparently they know this is a problem because there is an Aim-A-Flame stored on top of the stove. There were also several burnt matches in the stove where others tried to light the piolt. We attempted to light the pilot but to no avail. The only way the stove would light was when you turned on the burner and then used the lighter they provided to light the burner. Once you turn off the burner, the pilot still is not on an the smell of gas is still there. We had no choice but to attempt to sleep with the window open (froze all night) and pray we didn't die from the gas. Unfortunately there was no body around to discuss this problem with and it never was corrected. We were in Room 2.

This place is not spectacular but we didn't need much. Recent college graduates fulfilling a weekend "spring break" trip. The kitchen was nice, but small. The bathroom was small but newly remodeled. The room was dated but sufficient. We slept 3 but could have easily fit 6. If you are looking for a great value (cheap) place to stay spur of the moment within walking distance of pretty much everything. Nice flat screen with DirecTV for when we were in the room. This is a good choice. I would do it again. (Room 6)

We stayed here a week before Spring Break. It was very comfortable.. We stayed warm, kitchen was well stocks with everything we needed. We had a 1 room cabin, w/ a double bed and a futon for our son right beside us. Not real private, but it worked out fine. We had a small problem with our kitchen faucet, the owner ran right over to fix it, and one cold night, they lite a fire for us outside and brought us hot chocolate. Treated us just like family...
