We found this place on the Internet and decided to stay here for our first ever trip to Red River. We loved it. My family of 6, plus our big dog Ranger, stayed in room 3. The owners were very nice and helpful. The rooms were super clean. We loved how close it was to everything. We pretty much walked everywhere. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Red River.

This is a 50's era motel that has not been updated in years. The room s fine, but it is old. The best thing about it is that it is near the ski lift. Other than that, it is one step above camping. They do have a full kitchen. They allow dogs. There is nothing wrong with this place, you just need to know what you are getting.

Looking for a place to stay, I would pay more attention to the 2013 Certificate of Excellence and the other guest reviews, over those who would have to be considered "semi-professional" reviewers. The only two "poor" reviews, that we received, have been by guests who had a combined 131 reviews to their "credit". If I had made a gazillion reviews, I would probably place a highly inflated value on my thoughts and opinions, too.

As to the specifics, I agree, wholeheartedly, with the statement that the best thing about our place is our proximity to the ski slopes. Thanks for the plug.

We are old, but so are the Governor's Palace in Santa Fe, the White House, and the Vatican. That's pretty good company and shows the lack of derogation value of saying something is "old".

I would have to know the reviewers working definition of "updated", before I could respond to that. I can say, however, that all our rooms, except one, have been freshly painted, and all the bedspreads, towels, and wall hangings have been replaced in the last year. The outside of the lodge has been repainted, and the sidewalks tiled. All the baths and kitchen floors, as well as kitchen counter surrounds have been ceramic tiled. If I were going to spend so much time crafting a review, I would look at the online pictures of the establishment, inside and out,, before even considering staying there. That would have taken care of the "know what you are getting" observation.

Thanks, too for the "one step above camping" remark. Our friends camp in Newells, Blue Birds, Foretravels, and Monacos. Actually, one camps in her 2013 Prevost, but she bought it used.

In retrospect, the first part of the reviewer's second sentence, sums up our rooms perfectly, "The room is fine...".

We appreciate the positive review. Let us know why the sleep quality was less than satisfying, and we will fix it.

Accomodations are not cheap in Red River but we found the Arrowhead to be well worth the money. We stayed in Room #2 which is quite pedestrian but with a very economical use of space. The room was basically one fair sized space with a queen bed ,small closet, and TV cabinet on one side and the sink,1/2 sized refrigerator, microwave, and 2 person table on the other side. The little kitchen area didn't have a stove but it had all the dining utensils like dishes, silverware, glasses, etc. which was nice to have. The bathroom was compact like everything else ,but like everything else about this property, it was very clean. And the
The only problem I had with this property is that the outside lights stayed on all night. This wouldn't be a problem if there were black-out curtains on the windows. But that was not the case, only blinds.
The owners were very nice and responded to any requests that we had.
Would definitely stay there again.

I checked the lights. They only stay on until 11:30, I will reset them to ;go off at 10:30. We feel that we need to leave them on until at least that time for safety sake.

In the room itself, the cabinet and utensils are a bonus, instead of the absence of a stove being a negative. The room is advertised, and the pictures show that it is a one bed hotel room.

My two teens and I stayed in Room #4 over a 3-day weekend in January. The room was large with plenty of space. The kitchen was immaculately clean (countertops and cabinets are old as shown in the photo -- the refrigerator was new). The pleasant surprise came with the bathroom that was recently updated and spotless.

The location could not be beat for access to the ski lifts. Everything is within walking distance, which meant the teens could walk a block to a nearby game area which had pool tables, air hockey, and more.

The owner's were extremely helpful and accomodating. They even furnished firewood for the fire place.

I will definitely stay here again!

Great cozy mom and pop motel, located at the base of the ski mountain. The rooms are small, but they have a good size kitchen with fridge, oven, microwave and table. We weren't too concerned about room size though since we were gone all day everyday. Beds were comfy and showers were hot. Great value!

Rooms are very basic but very clean. John very accommodating both prior to and during visit. Absolutely fantastic location if planning to hit the slopes at red river. Not luxury accomodation but great value for ski trip. We will be back.
