“Very Clean and Very nice People”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

We stayed at this Hotel at the end of May. Very Clean room, like new. The Lady at the desk checking me in looked in to my account and said you have no points and I told her that I had just stayed at best western the night be for so she made shore i got my points for that night. They where dog firendly also. I was very quiet and secure. The Breakfast was so good a lot to choose from. I highly recomend a stay here, this hotel has it all for the traveler. BEST WESTERN HAS FIXED MY POINTS THANK YOU.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room on the west side of the office just a little walk to the office but quiet.

We stayed at this location in May. We purchased 2 rooms for 3 people and were told the rate would be $132 for BOTH rooms. We were totally surprised as this seemed too reasonable, even for Raton, NM. We even commented to the clerk and she never said a word, no clarification, nothing, just smiled. All 3 of us heard the rates. Well, guess what. We were charged $132 for EACH room on our credit card. A call to the hotel was absolutely no help at all. Sent an emal to customer service which I am sure won't prove to be fruitful. We have been LONG time BW customers, but most likely won't be after this experience! Shame on you Raton BW!!!!!! The hotel is quite nice, but I am giving them a poor rating due to being misquoted and not wanting to make it right!

Room Tip: Get it in WRITING and don't believe what they TELL you!

Your representation that the clerk misrepresented room rates in quoting $132 for two rooms is an impossibility.

First, the clerk has little flexibility with pricing. The prices are established in the computer system to eliminate that very issue. There is no “two room pricing” in the Raton’s computer system, therein it is impossible for the clerk to have quoted such.

Second, to obtain room key cards you must first initial and sign the Hotel’s guest registration forms, which would have noted the rooms you were renting and the rates that were quoted for each room. You signed two separate room registrations, each noting a separate room number, at the computer generated price.

Third, part of night audit procedures is to slide a room registration close out receipt under each guest’s room door. The receipt corresponds to each room rented and the credit card charge that had been processed for that particular room stay.

Finally, your call to the Hotel disputing the charges and then noting that the front desk clerk the night before had quoted a $60 a night rate is impossible, again because the rates are fixed in the property management system by management but more importantly, since opening this Hotel in October 2010, there has never been a $60 rate entered into the system. The room rates have never been that low.

To say that the Hotel would not make it right is unfortunate. You were charged for the rooms occupied in accordance with the registration forms and the credit card authorizations you approved and signed

Like other reviewers, this hotel was a grand surprise! We'd had a detour because of a fire in Colorado and my traveling companion was a bit concerned about where we would stay. Came across this lovely, new hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. Nice overall. Don't hesitate to stay here!

Stayed 1 night and was surprised how great the room was. It started with the front desk, the person helping Myibe (totally misspelled but has Y in her name) was cheerful and nice. Room were clean and modern. Bed was soooooo comfortable. Swim in indoor pool. This room and hotel is definitely in my top 10!!!

A friend and I were traveling from Colorado to Texas after a workshop and were very tired. We had reservations and had requested a ground floor room, which was readily available. We were both very pleased not only with the personnel and loveliness of the place, but the amenities were extra special. The room was spotless and quiet. We ate breakfast the next morning and found it to be above and beyond the normal free continental breakfast as well, Instead of the pre-formed eggs, there were freshly scrambled eggs! The gentleman working there offered to make pancakes or waffles for us, rather than the do-it-yourself griddle usually found in hotels now. No plasticware, either, but real cloth napkins and silverware was offered. If I am traveling that way again, I will definitely stay there!

Room Tip: We had a room facing the highway, but were not disturbed once by traffic noise. I doubt it matters...

Great hotel, service and facilities. Restaurant was a pleasant surprise and breakfast was awesome! The owner, Mike Mulligan, took time to speak with us, something I have never seen in a roadside motel before. Will be sure to stop again when in northeastern NM.
