“Good Local Diner”
Reviewed November 20, 2011

We stopped for lunch while on a road trip and chose this restaurant because of TripAdvisor. The food was good. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. The people are friendly and the restaurant was full with mostly local people. The daily special lunch plate was spaghetti and meat balls. The plate came with cream of broccoli soup and a salad, as well as garlic toast. We brought the left overs home and it was enough food for two more meals. The Mexican food selections are good, not great, but also generous in the amount.

This is good choice when in or around Raton at lunch or dinner time. We will keep it on our list of good stopping places, since we travel this route with some frequency.

“Good dinner grub!!!”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

Son had the sirloin steak and fries, I had the club sandwich and salad. This is a dinner, not The Mansion on Turtle Creek. The food was very good and the service great.

“One word: Horrible.”
Reviewed October 17, 2011

The honey-mustard dipping sauce for my son's chicken strips we had to question if it was safe for him to eat because it tasted horrible. My burger (the Oasis burger) was burnt, charred, rubbery & tasteless. The fries on all our plates were served cold and they tasted like they were cooked in the grease trap. The were extremely pricey for what was being served. It might be one of the few places to stop off the I-25 in Raton for a quick meal, but pass this one up & head to McDonald's down the road. Sadly, you'd get better food for better value.

“Homemade Food and Plenty of It”
Reviewed September 28, 2011

One key to finding a good ethnic restaurant is to find out where the people of that ethnicity tend to eat. The Oasis in Raton, NM, is a funky little place with great food that's all homemade and where the locals tend to flock. We tried the enchiladas and were not disappointed. The only shortcoming in the meal were the sopapias, which appeared to have been made that morning and left out to get a bit hard .(If sopapias aren't served and eaten almost immediately, you'd be better off chewing on a old boot.)

“Tripadvisor did not let me down”
Reviewed September 18, 2011

Not much for restaurants in this town, we looked to tripadvisor. When we first drove up we were scared, a little restaurant attached to a very old motel. The food was great, good priced and the service was great! They were very croweded for breakfast. Dinner was awsome. Looks can be deceiving, listen to Trip Advisor.
