“Nice Natural Area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

Mainly been there for the fishing, which is pretty good. Do have to put up with the smaller fish mixed in with the occasional big one. Did like the exhibits at the Center. A visit to the remains of the old coal towns is a must.

“Old Coal Town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

Some remnants of an old coal town and a lake that furnishes the towns water. Nice visitor center and some easy trails. Does not take very long. Saw a lot of fishing at the lake.

“Awesome Place”

Complete park, with hummingbirds, wild life and a host of various birds. Great place to hang out and camp. A family favorite for years.

“Great ranger staff, beautiful hiking scenery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2012

The volunteers & rangers were great, they helped us find a place to park with shade so our cat (epileptic, has to travel everywhere with us due to his med schedule) wouldn't roast in the car. Very informative about the area as well. We hiked the Lake Alice trail, which had many beautiful flowers this time of year. The trails were clean of litter, the campground looked very well kept up too. Restroom facilities were very clean and well kept.

“Not just for fishig”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2012

Although not on the birdwatchers' usual location lists, I think it has potential (not for rareties, but for migrants). Lovely park, partly burned in 2011, now ripe for woodpeckers and other critters that move back in after a disaster.
