A must see for photographers. I have been to some amazing churches in Europe and America. Many are fancier, more breathtaking, etc.. This church is simple and authentic and infinitely more moving. No photography inside. An interesting fact I discovered while talking to a local shopkeeper who has attended since childhood, every year the parishioners give it a new coat of adobe themselves. Well worth the time.

It won't take long to check this one off your list. We looked around a little but a mass was about to start. There are the obligatory gift shops nearby. Nothing spectacular here.

Architecturally, this is one of the wonders of Spanish colonial architecture. You do not want to miss this church during a visit to Taos. Truly magnificent.

This mission had a lot of character and was the most picturesque we saw in New Mexico. Worth going by for a short visit for sure. From the looks of it they just finished applying a layer of adobe when we visited.

It is near where the high road comes in/out of Taos so it may be a good thing to do coming in or going out of town. Faces away from the road so you may very well drive by it a couple times before seeing the sign.

A cool, quiet sanctuary with many sacred souls within. I remember this mission from the time I was 10 years old.
