“Can't wait to go back!”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

We had the pleasure of eating at The Roosevelt Brewery this past week (Feb. 2014). We were promptly greeted and seated in a very interesting and clean restaraunt. Our very friendly wait staff was helpful and informative.

This place cooks in a wood oven and the crust of the pizza and the calzone were perfect. I had the Triple Pig: Pepperoni, sweet ale-braised sausage, pancetta ham; which was too big for one person but ohhhh so good. The others in my party enjoyed the Cheesesteak: Green chile, roasted onions, ale-braised button mushrooms, roasted peppers, provolone, mayo and the Baked Reuben: Corned beef, sauerkraut, our thousand island dressing, Jarlsburg Swiss, on our rye roll and the New Mexican Calzone: Red or Green Chile, applewood bacon, ale-braised sausage, pepperjack, our pickled jalapeños, mozzarella. Along with the great food we enjoyed the Blackwater Porter and Sour Cherry Beer.

Don't fill up on the wonderful food because the cupcakes are a joy to your tastebuds. I cannot say enough about the Lemon cupcake. No one in our party is really a big lemon dessert fan but we all wished we had had room for more of this sweet treat. The double chocolate is any chocolate lovers delight.

“Nice but not that nice!”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

My first visit for the Brewery was deeply disappointing! Got there from Clovis at 5:30 pm wasn't seated till 7:00pm. So had a while to see what was not done right. It seams to be a problem getting the large table to dispersed after they had finished eating. Waitresses were to friendly with customers and others seemed to ignore patron overall, hostess did a pour job of working in the tables that simply needed clearing. Plenty of wait staff but the problem I believed to be the manager and her ability to coordinate staff organization and detail to customer service. There was to much apologizing for things not getting done at appropriate time. None of it being done by management with such along wait for service you would think she would have something to say. To many work staff behind the bar that were not working 15mins for non alcoholic drinks was ridiculous. Waitress was great but was really held up by wait staff and bar staff. This restaurant needs to decide if it is a specialty diner or college hangout. Food was good but not worth the wait or the money. Patrons should not be drunk at the door way waiting. Would have left but was there for a birthday I took the rest of the party to get over the bad treatment of our group. We ate then left so sad!

“Will go back!”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

Located just off the Portales square, myself and three family members ate there today and we all loved it! The Pizza was awesome and I know Pizza! Very nice and tasty crust, fresh tasting toppings and the mozzarella was excellent. My niece had a chicken sandwich she thought was very good too and all of it was more than you could eat alone. We didn't sample the different beers available but we'll definitely be back for that and to sample more of the food. It was a busy lunch crowd but the food was worth the wait and the crowd seemed to be enjoying themselves and their meals. This is now going to be our go to destination whenever we're in town.

“Limited menu, but excellent food and beer”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

Food choices are limited to pizza, calzones, sandwiches, salads, and soup, but everything on the menu is delicious and there are a lot of interesting flavor combinations. The beer is wonderful, and the cupcakes are too good for words (I always order mine when I sit down because they often run out). You will probably want to share, though, as they are very generous, rich and dense. The cupcakes are always made with beer and they are incredibly moist-- and I had never been a real cupcake fan! The Greek salad is very tasty, with a very fresh dressing, and the appetizer dips are yummy. They sometimes have live music and that makes for a great night out.
