We were traveling at night and I was to tired to go on. I pulled in to the Lomita and found a note saying the door is open and the room ready. I walked in to the room and climbed in bed and had a very restful sleep. In the morning I met the owner and paid. It was like coming home and my room was ready and the lights were on. I highly recommend it whether you stay a while or just need a room for the night.

This is not a classy motel. It is a simple room with a bed and private bathroom with shower next to the highway. Must consider rural highway noise. It was very clean. Everthing in working order. Basic cable TV, no telephone in the room. The room was cold when I arrived, turned on the heater and it warmed up promptly. Incense burner in the room, the room smelled very nice. Inexpensive compared to other places nearby. Walked 1/4 mile down dirt road to Ojo Caliente hot springs (fee area). Restaurants within walking distance.

Discovering the Lomita and its owners was like finding a vein of gold ore. What a treasure! The Lomita is a creative endeavor, a refreshingly individualistic work-in-progress. The owners made us feel like old friends in short order. Pricing is very reasonable and it's a short walk across the highway to the mineral springs. The accommodations are not luxurious, but they are comfortable, and you get the delicious feeling that something is always undergoing transformation at the Lomita Motel. Wonderful energy.

Under relatively new ownership, they're working fixing things up. It's not fancy, but it is a great value. The people there are Very friendly and you just may feel more at home there than you do in your own hometown. Would definitley recommend.

I stayed at the Lomita for 4 days and totally enjoyed the cabin, view from front room is just breathe taking.
The owners are just the nicest postive engery i have felt in a long time from the smile and hello.
The natural spring being right across the street, just goes to show that a little bit of heaven on earth does exist , and Ojo Caliente is the proof of that.
