We stayed here for one night as part of a day trip. We didn't book any spa treatments, as we weren't going to be there for very long. We stayed in a plaza suite with 'private' Kiva pool. What we didn't realise before going was that the private pool is shared by many, many suites so that at times it felt quite crowded. Check in was ok, not conspicuously friendly. We got into our suite (apparently a room with a fridge and a microwave is a suite), and found the keys only fit one door. So we trekked back across the gravel to reception, who explained that the second door - the one that opened on to the garden area with the private pool - could only be locked from the inside. Which they could have told us when they gave us the keys. So we either had to trust all our fellow guests, or go out into the car park in our robes - rather flimsy cotton, not at all luxurious - and walk round the building to get into the garden. Wifi in the lobby only, and the toilet paper was the sort of quality you would expect in a budget motel. Having said that, the kiva pool was beautiful, and the restaurant was pricey but very good quality. I think this is a potentially first rate place, let down by a lack of attention to detail. At these prices, I think we had a right to expect better.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your recent visit with us here at Ojo. Please know that your observations and suggestions are well received and are very helpful to us in addressing areas of concern.

We apologize that you were not given information regarding the patio door lock on your suite at the time of check-in. During extremely busy times our front desk staff makes every effort to give our guests as much information as possible at check-in with as much efficiency and thoroughness as possible. You will be happy to hear that we are in the process of replacing the patio door locks on our suites to match the front door locks, which we realize will be a great convenience to our guests. We have re-emphasized the need to inform our guests of this issue until we are assured it has been resolved.

As noted in our printed materials and on our website, our Wifi capability is at this time limited to the lobby area, wine bar and lounge, and in our private homes. Due to the thicker walls in some of our older historic buildings and those structures built with rastra block and adobe brick, we have had challenges getting signals to penetrate these types of structures. Our IT Manager is actively working on enhancing the Wifi service throughout the resort, which include remote wireless access in all of our suites.

We are pleased to know that you enjoyed our Kiva Pool, and hope you were able to sample the other mineral pools as well. Thank you again for taking the time to post a review and we hope this information is helpful to you. We look forward to welcoming you again very soon.

Sincerely,

Eric Martinez

Put your money where you can receive the most enjoyment and relaxing benefits! My husband and I reserved the Pueblo Suite this time for 3 days. This was just not long enough! The Peublo Suites have fireplaces which we lit in the morning - drinking coffee - enjoying the view of cliffs, before we would then head for the private hot spring pool for suite guests. Later, when the day would get started, we would head to the main grounds to enjoy the rest of the pools, relaxing music, steam rooms and cold lemon water. Ahh-hh, I'm ready to go back now. it has a fabulous restaurant, spa salon, gift shop and cool wood fire at nights in a lovely outdoor area. My daughter and her husband met up with us there for the trip and they instead -- hiked in the mornings. They loved that. This Inn is very accommodating to it's guests and we are grateful for their kind service! Best experience for the money. But remember, 3 days is too short. If you have more days -- spend them there!

Stayed in a cliff side suite which was just lovely. The parking, check-in, and bag handling were a little rough- don't bring a heavy suitcase because you will have to carry it or drag it through the gravel to the suites. Restaurant was stellar with exemplary service. Spa services were awesome. Will be back.

We really enjoyed the mineral springs at Ojo Cliente resort. It's really beautiful and the pools are fantastic. We enjoyed the mud bath experience! I really think it's a must do when visiting the region. If you just go for the day/ the pools are not very expensive. We opted for the full out spa experience. The massages we had were fantastic! One suggestion for the resort (we bought the private mineral pool/with Kiva fireplace plus massages)- provide those extra things people expect when dropping $500. For example, we wanted some drinks in our private pool area and there was no wait staff. You had to go to the restaurant to buy the drinks and bring them back. The Kiva fireplace to light was an extra $10. These are little things but really add to the experience. Overall- so happy with going there. When/if I get back to the region, I will for sure go again!

Dear Guest,

We were delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your recent day visit to Ojo, and thank you for your patronage and kind recommendation.

We have made a conscious effort to maintain our rates so that Ojo remains accessible to large groups of people and does not become exclusive. To better serve our guests, we are planning an extensive remodel and expansion of our spa and springs changing areas to provide an experience that is in line with an avid spa-goer's expectations. This will include designated men's and women's spa guest changing facilities, with a steam room and sauna, a cozy waiting area, and other attractive amenities. In addition, we will be enlarging our spa treatment area to include 12 perfectly appointed and aesthetically pleasing treatment rooms. We will also provide a complimentary robe, locker, large bath sheet, and locker key to all of our guests receiving spa treatments any day of the week. Until the new spa dressing room facilities are completed, we are now also providing lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash with these spa locker amenities.

We are also considering providing flip flops for both our day and lodging guests, in addition to our robes. Cooled lemon water is served throughout the springs/spa area, as well as in the private pool areas. By law, we are prohibited from having drinks in the pool areas. We regret that this was an inconvenience to you.

We strive for excellent customer service and an enjoyable visit for all our guests. Please be assured that your suggestions and observations are much appreciated and will be carefully considered as we plan future enhancements. We hope you will visit our website periodically for updates on the progress of these exciting improvements, and we look forward to welcoming you again in the very near future!

Sincerely,
Eric Martinez

We've been to Ojo many times and it never fails to impress us. The service, spa treatments, rooms, food and setting are exemplary and always improving, while maintaining the history and integrity of this magical place. We continue to recommend it to friends and visitors from out of state for a special day trip or overnight. It is truly a New Mexico gem.

This is my second visit and as with the first, it was an amazing stay. The mineral pools just melted away a year of stress and provided amazing relaxation. I'm not normally one to stay in the same place twice, but the mineral pools just beckon. This time, the mud pool was open so that was an added bonus. I didn't happen to notice but my significant other recognized that we were sitting in the same mineral pool as Sarah Silverman (Jimmy Kimmel's ex). So that added to the entertainment on our first day. While there, we also enjoyed yoga, hiking and spa treatments. The cliff swallows also lived outside of our room -- we were careful not to disturb their nesting. If you go, I suggest you buy into a package with spa treatments and a private kiva pool -- and if you can, spend a bit extra to stay in the Cliffside Suites. Those have private mineral pools and fireplaces I believe. Next time, that's the plan. The reason I suggest this is because the Plaza Suites face the parking lot and our air conditioning was broken (didn't need it much anyway) and all we heard was the sound of the cars pulling in and out when we were in the room. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I do believe we'll go back again.

Room Tip: If you can, splurge on a Cliffside Suite with a private outdoor soaking tub and kiva fireplace or a...

What an amazing place to relax & rejuvenate!! My husband & I booked a cliff side suite for our 12th anniversary. The suite was delightful and the fireplace, private deck & outdoor soaking tub added the perfect ambience!! This small hot springs/mineral pool resort offers a nice variety of peaceful soaking pools and a private adult-only pool! The fragrance of piñon wood burning @ night was soothing to the soul! The resort offers many spa services & yoga classes (that we did not take advantage of this trip)! We will surely return!!
