We stopped at La Posta on our way home from the New Mexico Harvest Wine Fest. My husband had good memories of the restaurant. Since it was dinner hour on a Saturday on a holiday weekend, the restaurant was busy, & we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes. It ended up being closer to 1.25 hours. The waiting area has lots of (not very comfortable) seating, several aquariums, and some tropical birds. For our dinner we split the La Posta Granda combo plate, which included dessert. Our server was very good, appropriately attentive. The food was good, but nothing special. We were in a room that had two large parties of more than a dozen people, so it was crowded, and the waitresses had a difficult time getting around because of that. The restaurant has been around for a long time - since 1939. The building was one of the original stops on the Butterfield Stage Coach line, so the place has an interesting history. Would we go back again? Maybe, but not real soon.
