We had there house specials La Posta you get tons of food, also desert. Neither of us cleaned our plates. You can easily split it. They also have great Margaritas many flavors to choose from along with tequila. Will go back when we come thru again.

“Points for decor & staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

A Wednesday night in La Mesilla & the place (which seats 500!) was unbelievably busy. We weren't hungry since we ate a huge lunch, so we sat at the bar & chatted with the manager & bartender, who were both the best marketers for this business. We got the history of the place, which began as an old stage stop on the Butterfield line, descriptions of the latest renovations & a tour of their huge tequila (over 100) selections. Try the Chile 'Rita! As an appetizer, shoot for the shrimp cocktail, which is not your East Coast country club cocktail....think way South of the Border.

“A local legend.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2014 via mobile

La Posta is a must for out of town visitors who want to experience some real New Mexican atmosphere and cuisine. The restaurant is located in an ancient hacienda that played many historic roles in the village of Mesilla. There are a variety of rooms, all beautifully decorated. The kids will love the parrots and piranhas in the lobby...generations of kids have. The food is great and is spicey enough for the locals but not too hot for tourists. I recommend the tostadas compuestas with red chili con carne. For dessert, try the coconut flan. There is a huge selection of Margaritas. As an added bonus, the building also has several small shops. I recommend Mateos for amazing jewelry.

“Friendly service, Good Food, interesting restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2014

First time at La Posta, which was last minute decision on a Saturday night. I called to see if they had place for a party of 9, which they did. If you are not from the area, use a GPS to find it, especially at night. As we entered La Posta, we were greeted by many parrots, which all the kids & adults enjoyed. The friendly hostess was expecting us and we were seated right away in one of the many rooms they have. Our waiter was also friendly, professional, and patience with a group size like ours. La Posta has many many selections and everyone in our party picked a different plate. Generous portions. I would recommend La Posta if you are in Las Cruces.

“Wonderful food”

I was working in El Paso and had a free Sunday so my co-worker and I drove from El Paso for the afternoon. We went to La Posta for lunch and it was delicious. I had a bowl of Poole and one pork tamal. The soup had so much meat I didn't finish it, guess if should have gotten a cup. It also came with two huge fresh flour tortillas. I also had iced tea and it was under $20.00
