“Great Fire-works Otherwise Dissappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

Anticipating this overnight through eastern New Mexico we called for reservations for a premium room. The reservations clerk was little help getting us through the maze of offers, prices and amenities. Upon arrival the valet was fast and helpful. The reception was slow; only one person at the desk helping a "problem" guest. Ten minutes waiting to register....not cool after driving all day. That evening was Labor Day holiday and they were having a employee appreciation event with a fire-works show. We had a lakeside room and the show was GREAT! The bed was good, the room clean, the air vents were dirty, bird droppings on the patio furniture, mini-bar wasn't stocked. Overall the room was fair but not special. We had breakfast: slow service. Ce called for valet service and after 20 minutes I just carried our bags up and checked out.
My general impression was: disappointment... the staff seemed un-inspired not particularly helpful of interested.

This is a top notch resort in the beautiful Sierra Madre Mountains, near the village of Ruidoso. They offer an exceptional golf course, great casino, good food and a friendly staff. All at a reasonable price. Ruidoso Village is also a nice place to stroll and shop.and the mountain activities are abundant.

Room Tip: Try to get a higher floor room facing the lake and the golf course.

Spent a wonderful night here while travelling in the lower area of New Mexico and exploring surrounding sights. Our room was not ready so without our asking we were upgraded to the most amazing suite. What a delightful room! Food in the bar was much better than bar-food. Breakfast buffet was ok. One of our bags was not placed in car and bag was sent to us, saving us from another 20 hour drive round trip. Staff very pleasant.

Spent the weekend at the Inn of the Mt. Gods and we were actually disappointed this time. The carpeting in the hallways and rooms is getting worn and stained and the furnishings are showing signs of aging. Could hear people talking in the adjacent rooms. It's a shame but, because of the drought, the lake is very low. We ordered room service (the night before) and it was delivered over an hour late. We did enjoy ourselves, but for the price... this is definitely not a 5 star hotel.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with stunning views. I am never disappointed in my room when I stay here. Wendell's restaurant is an absolute must when staying here.
The casino, however, is a different story--lost my #^$@#$^ there!!
Fun time, however, and would recommend this nice and cool spot for anyone in the El Paso or surrounding area wanting to escape the summer heat.

I hadn't been to the Inn since the hotel and casino had been completely re- done. Both places are outstanding. Our spacious room had a beautiful view of the golf course and water. Really nice art work throughout the entire hotel. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had some good food in the bar at the Casino. The valet service was incredible. The entire staff of the hotel was very courteous and helpful. Can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

Set at the base of a mountain with a small lake, this hotel was very nice! We did not experience any of the negatives the other reviewers did. Easy and polite check in, Rooms were spacious and clean. Bathroom was nice and big and offered a great hot shower. I appreciated the hotel amenities such as shampoo AND conditioner. Our room was serviced daily, and housekeeping did a great job. Had tons of fun at the Casino, and had a meal at Wendell's. Which was also excellent. Valet staff was on the ball and delivered our car quickly each time (except once, when we had to wait about 15 minutes). I saw lots of people enjoying the golf course, fishing, and paddle boating on the small lake. Don't hesitate to book here, I think some people go in with a microscope looking for the smallest issue! We were definitely here to have a good time, the fireplace in the lobby area was so warm and inviting, and you could just hang out and read or enjoy the views if you want. The are only 2 drawbacks I noticed, one is that there is no spa. I usually like to visit the spa a couple of times. (But there is a nice one in town). And also, there is no alcohol allowed in the casino. What??? Yes, you read right. There are a few bars where you could purchase alcohol, but you could not leave the bar with it. Crazy rule, but whatever.

Room Tip: Ask for a Lake view room!
