The Inn has always been a great place to stay. Yes, SOME of the staff can be a little unfriendly however they have improved their attitude 100 times over through the years. When we first started going to the Inn the staff was really rude and it took a miracle to get some of them to crack a smile. We just became accustomed to it and killed them with kindness. They really have come a long way with customer service though. I appreciate the fact that the hotel has done a couple new improvements such as better bed linens, installed a directory for the Inn and added it to the key card holders, added soap dishes to the bathroom, added a little jungle gym outside for the kiddos, opened up a small snackbar for those late night munchies and opened up Wendell's for breakfast. The best thing about the Inn is the view of the mountains and the lake. It's just amazing to sit by the fireplace and take it all in. The rooms are starting to show their age but it's not so bad that you would want to stay somewhere else. Trust me, the hotels in Ruidoso are much more run down than these that's for sure (except for Hotel Ruidoso which is very nice). The pool and jacuzzi are awesome, we stay in there for hours and just have a great time. The buffet is good and it has a large selection of food. We don't gamble so I can't comment on the casino. The Inn also has several places where you can sit, order food and drinks and enjoy some sports on TV or just lounge around. Been going to the Inn of the Mountain Gods for years and God willing, will continue to do so for many, many more.

Room Tip: I recommend sitting by the huge windows that overlook the lake and mountains for a couple of minutes...

IOTMG was an okay trip. The hotel was remodeled a few years back, co naturally I expected it to be grand- but it wasn't! The rooms already look outdated. Our ceiling began dripping on our last day at 5 a.m.- they asked us to take showers in the pool locker rooms (gross pool showers). They shaved off 50 bucks and gave us a free buffet. The pool and hot tub are very nice facilities if you decide to swim. The pool is VERY warm. The buffet was great! The staff are somewhat friendly. We stayed on the third floor and had a nice few of the lake and mountains :)

Room Tip: The rooms to your left typically have a nicer view!!

We stayed here to see the Glen Campbell concert. We had a very nice room & good service.
Most of the rooms have a very nice view of the lake. Wendell's has very good food & reasonable prices & excellent service. There is a parking garage so you don't have to go outside when it is cold as was the case when we were there. I would like to go back in the summer and play the lovely golf course they have.

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room here. We had a ground floor room with a patio that was very ni...

Went to a Glen Campbell concert and stayed one night with my family of four. I agree with other reviewers that some employees are not were courteous and friendly, perhaps it is their culture. Early check in is not an option. The lack of friendliness of a front desk employee was soon overcome by a great welcome that our room gave us. As soon as we opened the door there was this great orange-like fresh smell (not seen in any other place we had travelled), the room was well decorated and very open (we were given a room for handicapped), the two queen beds were very soft and comfortable; the bathroom amenities are the best, good quality products. Two plush bath robes were available in our room for use when we went to the indoor heated pool that has a huge Jacuzzi; the pool area has a gym next door, a sauna and steam bath. We had a wonderful view of the lake and had a great time at the resort. The following morning we were surprised by snow and our kids had a great time playing with it. The rest of the resort is well decorated and first class, there are various dining options. We tried the buffet and it was good for a brunch, perhaps they have more meats and fish at dinner time. We will come back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the 5th floor (which is the street level floor) or the 6th floor at the East wing...

We have stayed here on numerous occasions in the past and have normally had a pleasant stay except for our most recent one on 12-14-2011.Without trying to stereotype or be judgmental towards the owners or employees that work here, this group of Native Americans could use some classes in friendliness and quality control. They can at times be rude, unfriendly and even suspicious of their guests like when presenting a coupon for the buffet. This most recent trip to the hotel/casino we stayed in room 710 with 2 queen beds.Upon close examination of the room,we found multiple stains on the carpet and the wall. There was also gum on the carpet and on one of the bed skirts. At checkout,we pointed out these issues and were given a $20 discount on the room price.
The food at the restaurant was delicious if pricey.
I did well in the casino opting for the Wheel of Fortune slot machine which rewarded me for my patience and persistence, however Indian casinos seem to have slimmer odds than the ones in Las Vegas for example.

Room Tip: If you find a problem with your room, bring it to their attention asap.

We stayed here one night, and were accidentally overcharged for the price of our hotel stay. We had a commitment the next morning and I didn't want to waste my time discussing a disagreement with the billing, so I simply wrote a note on the back of my bill stating what had happened. (I was overcharged $33 for the room.) I was impressed and pleased that they contacted me and credited my credit card the amount they had over charged when they could have simply done nothing. This gives me the impression that they do care about customer service.

The hotel is beautiful. The standard rooms are nice, but not spectacular. If you can get the rooms for a decent price it is worth the stay.

We went to the Inn to attend a concert. This concert facility was excellent. The hotel rooms are average at double the normal rate. The first night was $149.00 The second night was adverised at $99.00, they tried to charge $119.00. We had 2 rooms locked in at this rate for 2 nights. After continually disagreeing with them on the quoted price they reluctantly gave in. Their buffet offers a wide variety of food. Some visits it is very good. Other times it is very bad. Thanksgiving day they advertised $25.00 per person, $20.00 for seniors. We asked for 2 senior tickets and were told they were all the same price and charged the $25.00 price. These people want your casino dollars and do not appear to be concerned about much else. When you are there you are literally IN THEIR COUNTRY on their reservation. We WILL NOT be going back there to stay.

Room Tip: go to any hotel in Ruidoso NM instead of the Inn. They will appreciate you business.
