I'd heard the entrees and desserts were great but was most wowed by the soups. The Lemon Artichoke and White Bean with chicken and bacon both sounded too good to miss and we were both glad for those choices. As soon as we took out first tastes, we asked our great server Dustin what the soup rotation was and about takeout sizes. Over-the-top fabulous soups. The lemon artichoke was a velvety creamy dream with deep lemon flavor but no tartness and just enough artichoke and pearl pasta bits to keep it interesting as we did all but lick the bowl. The white bean chicken bacon soup was hearty and soothing. Neither are what we thought would be our favorites of the meal, esp on a scorching hot day, but they were the winners. Our great server, Dustin, recommended the green chile soup on Friday. Looking forward to that one too.
For entrees, we had the meatball sub and a bacon BBQ burger. The meatballs were melt-in-your mouth tender, with just enough sauce and cheese to make a decent mess. The BBQ bacon green chile burger sounded better than delivered. Quite a stack of burger patty, bacon, heavily breaded onion rings and dripping BBQ sauce on a thick ciabatta bun. Extra napkins were provided and needed. I'd remake that one with sautéed onions and oregano on the beef patty to give it an Italian flavor or just order something else. Raspberry ice tea was crisply tart and available unsweetened. Other than the burger, great food in a lovely former home at the same prices you'd pay for far less memorable or enjoyable edibles. See you there on Friday!
