“The best queso in Las Cruces”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

The queso was the best we have had in Las Cruces. What makes it even better is El Sombrero serves it with fresh corn tortillas! The green chili sauce was the perfect combination of spicy and tasty. The red chili was spicy but far too bitter to enjoy. The sopapillas were made with whole wheat flour and very greasy. The restaurant was packed, loud, and too few servers/bus staff (greeters were unwilling to help other staff) made the service sub-standard.

“Best Tacos in Las Cruces”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

El Sombrero is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town. The food is fantastic and the price is very reasonable. It can certainly get crowded on the weekends; try it on the off times. The chile conqueso is fantastic.

“What a treat!”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

They don't have hard liquor; beer and wine only, but the wine Margaritas made with Blue Agave wine have all the flavor at 1/4 the alcohol!
I had 3 of them (less alcohol than 1 standard drink) and a huge burrito with beans and rice for $16.
I ate there 3 more times during my trip.

“Sure I'll go back! I have dozens of times.”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

El Sombrero is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Las Cruces. The food and service are both top notch.
I agree with some of the others who say that parking can be a challenge. You might have to park down the street. But it's worth the walk. Inside can be crowded, a bit noisy and not real fancy.
People flock to restaurants with great food. El Sombrero draws a great flock!

“One of the Best Mexican Food Restaurants in Town”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

I am a local and I can honestly say this is one of the best mexican restaurants in town! You cant go wrong with anything on thier menu...it is ALL good! My favorite is the chicken steamed taco...just delicious! The chicken quesadilla....the best! But you must try the chile con queso...to die for! The best chips and salsa around! If you havent tried this place yet you are definitely missing out..I recommend everyone to this place.
