We stayed as members of a large party. Our group had booked the whole property. It was so nice to sit in the courtyard and visit as the sun went down over the mountains. We woke up to a peaceful morning of walking the trails to the river where you could sit on a bench and enjoy your moring coffee. This is a destination in itself. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Would love to return for a longer stay. There are wonderful day trips around Jemez Springs.

The Canon del Rio has great accomodations, breakfast and a scenic respite that one does not want to leave

I booked this place based on a review by Frommer's and was only disappointed that I didn't stay more than two nights! The place is lovely in a quite, unassuming way. The hosts, Linsey, Troy and Darius were all friendly and helpful but not intrusive. At night, after a soak in the outdoor hot tub, I feel asleep to the light trickling sound of water in the courtyard fountain. The bed was comfy and the room nicely decorated. Although it's a quiet town there are plenty of things to do and see if you enjoy nature. I particularly enjoyed the natural hot springs and Bandelier National Monument. I highly recommend The Riverdancer Retreat.
