My kids and I spend a few weekends each summer in Glenwood, and this is our favorite place to eat. We know we can expect a warm welcome from the owner as well as the locals in the cafe, and we know to expect good, hot, filling food. The handmade purses that line the walls are a great conversation piece, and the jams are INCREDIBLE. After visiting for years now, the owner has even started to recognize us, which is pretty cool. We're planning our next trip for Easter weekend and can't wait for a good home-cooked breakfast!

Went this weekend, had a breakfast burrito. It was good... Just wished the chile was spicier. But the highlight was the jam that is now in my fridge. Soooo good.

We hike the Gila once a year for 4 days and EVERY morning of that 4 days is spent eating at the Golden Girls Cafe. The price is right, the portions are big, it's ALL homemade including the jellies and jams.

If you are in a rush - this is not the place for you.
If you go in a bad mood - you will either leave laughing or be in a worse mood because people actually smile here.

We've gone for 7 years to Glenwood. This is the BEST breakfast in the 150 mile radius, we've never had a bad meal or bad service.

We lucked out that the restaurant across the street from the eerie motel ,the Lariat, was closed and we wanted breakfast....we went down the street to The Golden Girl Cafe. The food was wonderful. We bought all the biscuits she had made to take with us. We bought at least 1 each of her wonderful homemade jams. She was sweet, courteous and yes she was a little slow to refill the coffee so we just refilled our own. Talk about yummy home style cooking. She IS Owner/waitress/cook/bottle washer and nurse for an invalid husband...she is on tough woman...I commend her.
The person passing through from Flagstaff needs to take a midol and stick with McDonalds or Burger King.....maybe the service will be better.
