“Best Green Chili in Town”
Reviewed March 15, 2009

Serves THE BEST New Mexican food in Gallup, NM or anywhere else!! Every item on the menu is good. The chili is mildly hot however the green chili is tastier than the red chili. Some places make hot chili but has no taste. They serve their food at hot fresh temperatures. Hamburgers are delicious especially with chili. The small cafe is downtown. Always busy and sometimes there is a line outside. Parking is limited sometimes you have to park at least one block away. However, worth the time and effort. The place is kept clean. Never tried the desserts. Only a few local jewelry vendors sell in the restaurant going to each table however not as bad as Earl's Restaurant. Too bad they close at 9pm and closed on Sundays. The food portions is average. Has childs menu. They focus on quality not quantity. This place is great, always a treat to go there.

“Lovethis gem!”
Reviewed September 14, 2008

Friendly service in a down home eatery that is filled with locals. The sopapillas are outstanding. The red and green sauces richly flavorful. Can be crowded and there is little to no waiting area. It's crowded because it's so good!

“Fantastic”
Reviewed July 2, 2008

Keeping in mind that Jerry's is not fine dining (my cosmopolitan sister would not be the least bit interested!), this is a fantastic place to eat. It's tiny, it's a bit dark, no frills at all. But it was packed at 4:30 on a Tuesday -- because of the food! I got the stuffed sopaipilla and was appalled at how huge it was ... and then proceeded to eat the entire thing. The kids all got typical American food (chicken, burger, grilled cheese), but they were much better in quality and portion size than most kids' menu items we've seen lately. And my husband loved his combo platter -- which had him sweating about halfway through, but he couldn't stop eating it anyway.

It's off the beaten path, but it's worth finding.
