“great off the beaten path style place!”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

We traveled all around Az and into Nm and I swear I think this place may have been the best food we ate on the whole trip. Small town, crowded, not in any way fancy. Friendly and delicious, also sympathetic to the poverty in the region so be prepared to be approached by local Native Americans selling trinket type stuff (a few gems too!). The restaurant welcomes and sanctions this. If that bothers you, you probably wouldn't like the atmosphere anyway.

“A Taste of New Mexico”
Reviewed July 1, 2014 via mobile

Just a little off of I-40, this tiny diner is definitely worth a side trip. Don't skip their amazing chips and salsa as a starter. Our family of 5 ordered everything ranging from tacos to "Miguel's Delight" and it was all great. Their fresh sopapillas with honey topped it all off. Well worth the trip!

“Great, friendly service, so-so food”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

This place is popular with the locals and a sprinkling of tourists. The waitress is super friendly, and immediately spotting us as the latter, she give us a quick tour of the menu and recommendations. We ordered a few of the favorites. The food was only ok. Everything was surprisingly bland, including the green chili, which had been advertised as the spicy one. The place has great atmosphere, though. There is a steady stream of people coming through selling jewelry and other arts and crafts, but they are not pushy.

“Awesome food, fast service!”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

Located just a block off Route 66 in Gallup. We were pulling a 29 foot travel trailer, so we parked a couple of blocks South in the parking lot of a grocery store and walked over. Kids had nachos and chicken nuggets, they were happy! Home made salsa was AWESOME! Just the right amount of kick!! You have GOT to try the green chile sauce..you can get it on anything! Very friendly servers. Mostly a local crowd. Lots of locals, kids and adults, selling jewelry and crafts. We ended up buying a beaded necklace and bracelet for our daughter. Best Mexican food I have had in a while...I'm going to be craving that green chile for a long time!
