We found this restaurant on Tripadvisor. We were glad we did. Gallup is not known for its outstanding cuisine, but the Badlands Grill does a very good job at raising the bar of cuisine excellence. The restaurant has a ways to go, but it's Gallup; and where Mexican food is prominent, it's nice to see change.
The Black Dahlia rib-eye was delicious, but the baked potato was way over done and not eaten. The chicken Cordon Gallup was very good; served over garlic mashed potatoes. The wine selection was limited, but then again, it's Gallup, NM, and what they had to offer was more than acceptable. Overall, a very pleasant evening. The service was excellent! Ask for Chandler.
