e visited Faywood for the first time since it's reopened. Though the facilities are not all in operation, the pools were fabulous -- hot spring water flowing through, and set on desert hillsides, enchanting and exhilarating. We used the clothing optional section and had a great to hour soak -- all day rate was reasonable. Picnic in desert, swim and enjoy hot spring water in the middle of a lovely natural setting. What could be nicer!

A pleasant surprise as we found Faywood on Christmas Day. We were tent camping; tentsites are small but pleasant and a close walk to all the facilities. Great clubhouse allowed afforded us the opportunity to read after dark on a cold night - and also a warm place to have breakfast. There are public and private pools, both clothing optional and clothing required (public pools) and we were able to soak in pools reserved for overnight guests. Really delightful place and we would definitely return again. Hope the owners can make a go of it as they have already done a lot of work to make this place special.

We stayed two nights in December in the Adobe Cabin and had a lovely time. This is one of the older buildings on the property which has been renovated and not open as lodging until recently. I was a little worried it might be run down but the cabin is in great shape, clean and cozy with exposed adobe brick walls and carpet. It's one room with a big comfy queen bed, fridge, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker and a little storage and a few kitchen items (pitcher, bowl, mugs). Outside you have a shaded picnic table and firepit/cooking grate and water spigot, it's in a lovely grove of trees and shrubs. If they ever reopen the "visitor center/cafe" building, the adobe cabin might feel a bit close for comfort.

Great price! $65 for 1 or 2 people compared to $99 for the bigger cabins
Separate from all other overnight areas, feels somewhat private.
Stocked with lots of towels plus tea, coffee and a packet of popcorn
Public outhouse is close but not too close.
Nice natural light during the day.

-Showers are on the other side of the resort (2-3 minute walk)
-Could use an overhead light in the cabin. Currently there are two somewhat dim bedside lamps and a harsh fluorescent fixture tucked in a corner.
-Located right by the entrance to the day use pools so people are often walking and talking nearby. There is a path crossing right outside your front door. Most people don't use this path but 1-2 times a person confusedly wandered into our picnic table area on their way to the parking lot. In general, everyone was so quiet and respectful, we were not disturbed though people were close by. The owners could consider rearranging their path signage or use a gate to discourage people from walking right by the cabin.

As for the pools and grounds, they are lovingly designed, well-maintained and there are many options for temperature and clothed/nude bathing or sitting around picnicking or reading. It's nice to have access to the area that is just for overnight guests but I found the day-use clothing-optional pools to be my favorite (best views of the desert and sunset).

Loved this place and will definitely be back! It is an easy excursion from Tucson.

Such a great experience for the price! My boyfriend and I rented a private pool for an hour for $25.. We liked the unpretentious environment and the pool was great. I would have given it an excellent if there had been lounge chairs at our pool for in between dips. A peek at the other pools on our way out showed that some pools do have lounge chairs, so ask for one that has them in advance. Other than that I only have positive things to say!

We have been waiting for Faywood to reopen and thankfully it has. The Guesthouse has been upgraded to a delightfully clean and comfortable residence with new beds, dishes, paint and furniture. The pools are as wonderful as before and you have 24 hour access to them when you are an overnight guest. We were so happy to see that the young couple have taken on this wonderful oasis in the desert and you can tell that it is a labor of love. The night stars are amazing as is the sunset in this hidden gem of a place. Elon would be proud of your efforts and your progress. We wish you the best of luck and success. We will be back!
