“Three strikes, you're out!”
Reviewed February 26, 2007

We have stayed at this property three times in the past six months to visit family in FMG. It's only getting worse! Mold in the showers, greasy floors, and funky odors. There seems to be a fine layer of scum over everything in the rooms. The heaters sound like a diesel engine, and smell only slightly better. Last time I wouldn't even let my kids sit on the beds without pulling the blankets off -- who knows when they were washed last? The pool is gross when it is actually open, scudgy people are drinking beer and arguing loudly on the walkways at 10 a.m., and the complimentary breakfasts are nothing but a basket of apples, boxed junk food and bitter, thin coffee in a cheap plastic cup. This place is not worth any rate unless you're paying hourly ...
We are going to throw down the extra $30 for a decent family hotel this time. Skip the scum!

I wish I'd read other people's reviews BEFORE I stayed here. This was a vile property. Two days later, I still was getting whiffs of the peculiar odor, and when I unpacked my suitcase after arriving home, I smelled it all over again . Add in the filthy bathroom, stained carpet and dirt-streaked window and you'll get the general picture. At least the sheets were clean (I think.)

This motel is by far the worse place I have ever stayed. We were lookingfor 3 things... A pool for the kids, free parking, and a cont. breakfast. The web site said it had a pool (so the kids were excited) but the pool was closed when we got there, with old mattresses and box springs thrown in the pool area. Who knows why? But that was only a minor problem once we saw the room. First of all the guy at the front dest couldn't even speak english.....we would ask questions and he would just smile and look down with an embarrassed look on his face. The rooms were filthy, dirty floors in the bathroom, stains all over the carpet and chairs, the blanket was see through in places it was so worn, and their was hair matted to the blanket. It was so nasty I only used the sheets while sleeping and kept my shoes on while walking around the room. Then who knows what was going on in the parking lot. I think some people (all men) must live here because they would cook their dinner out of the back of their trucks every night and hang out in the parking lot making it very uncomfortable for other guests to come and go. As for the breakfast we stayed two nights and each mornig we got down to the lobby before the breakfast hours ended but both times the front desk said they had run out of food. As a side note we decided to walk along the riverwalk which is right behind the motel and we were taken back by all the homeless people that were sleeping on benches there. Needless to say we could never recommend this motel. YUCK YUCK YUCK

Stay away from the Travelodge in Farmington, New Mexico. Drive on if it is the only place available. Front desk had no idea who was in what room, one member of our group was given two rooms that were either occupied or dirty before getting a "made up one", notice I didn't say clean. Carpet was filty in all rooms. Pool was choked with dirt and debris. The place looked like it was a flop house for the homeless. Travelodge should take a serious look at the condition of this place!

This hotel appears to be fairly recently updated, but is not well maintained. While the bathroom didn't have any visible mold/ mildew, the floor was slightly sticky. The room itself looked OK, but it looks like its been at least a year since they vacuumed under the beds (there were dust bunnies, old food bits and the ocassional toothpick). At the pool there were soiled diapers on the deck that looked like they'd been there a while, and quite a bit of gunk in the water. Their sign (and AAA listing) advertise a continental breakfast, which consisted of a day old box of Dunkin donuts and a wam pitcher of orange juice (even their staff seemed a bit embarassed by this).

I'd avoid this one if you can.
