“A great slice of history”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

If you are remotely into archaeology this is a must see. The museum is full of interesting pieces. Outside not only has the ruins, but also a slice from frontier history. The ruins are beautiful and the guide book is one of the best I've ever come across. The staff are very knowledgeable and very helpful. The gift shop has lots of great books. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

“Knowledgable, friendly, fascinating!”

Salmon Ruins Musem and Tours is a gem! 'Extensive exhibits of the archeological treasures in the area PLUS offering wonderfully insightful (personally guided) tours of Chaco Canyon. Tori Myers, our guide for the day, shared a wealth of information, making the ruins come alive. It was a VERY hot day, but she was as cool as a cucumber and so eager to share her expertise! Thanks Tori!

“Even a walkin KIva Exhibit”

There are good excavated ruins and even unexcavated areas at Salmon ruins. It is a good place to let your kids learn about pre-historic cultures in the Southwest. No rock art, but interesting Chacoan architectures.

“Highlight of our trip!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

The Chaco Canyon tour from the Salmon Ruins Museum was amazing. Our guide was an archeologist named Torrie, and she was phenomenal. She had a great sense of humor and shared interesting stories, answering all of our questions along the way. The price of the tour was well worth it. Five years ago we drove ourselves into the park and walked around the ruins independently, asking questions of the park rangers. The difference between that visit and our visit with Torrie was night and day! If you have any interest in visiting Chaco Canyon, save the wear and tear on your car and take this tour!

“Family Vacation”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Although a little distant from the 4 Corners, Farmington, NM offered the opportunity to visit the Salmon and Aztec Ruins. The Salmon Ruins offered a great opportunity to learn about our history, specific to the Aztec people who migrated and moved on from this area of the country. Great job by the Salmon family to protect this site so that others could visit and see how creative this culture was. It's a really good start for visiting Chaco Canyon and the Aztec Ruins, both within short distance.
