“The Farmington Museum & Visitor Center is a good stop after a long roadtrip”
Reviewed July 30, 2010

Couple of very nice exhibits here, one about drilling for oil and gas has an exciting simulated ride down into the earth. There is trading post exhibit and one on the history of the area. This is also a good stop for any visitor because there is a bright and well supplied visitor center here, lots of parking, friendly volunteers at the desk and a nice gift shop. The patio in the back looks out on the river. It's A refreshing stop after a long road trip.

“A good little museum”
Reviewed July 29, 2010

The Farmington Museum is a free attraction, run by the city and sharing space with the local visitor information bureau. It covers the history of Farmington adequately and contains its most innovative exhibits in the section explaining the search for oil and gas, an endeavor that dominates the contemporary local economy. If you like local history museums, this one should be on your list.
