We first heard about this on a TV show years ago. We decided then that someday we would stay there. This is unique is every way. The location is in a "cave" on the cliff side. Those who picture a damp dark place couldn't be more wrong. It is dark if you close off the 2 sliding glass doors and turn off the lights, otherwise it is plenty light. It is absolutely not damp but just the opposite, dry like the entire southwest. It is cool in there (about 65 degrees) but they provide space heaters. We preferred just to open the sliding doors and let the outside heat in. Gayle took us out there and showed us around. Everything you need for your stay (except dinner food) is there for you. For dinner we bought things to grill (on the gas grill provided) and ate outside on the patio rock at the table. Taking your food up there was no easy trick but well worth the views at sunset with the humming birds entertaining you every second. The bed was super comfortable and the shower coming out of the rock wall was such a wonderful touch. There are candles provided for the bedroom and the Jacuzzi that made it romantic. The three nights we spent there we the highlight of our 12 day trip to the southwest.
